On this topic deltachat has come up with a beautiful solution I believe. Your identity is your public key, and servers are used solely to relay stuff from one end to the other. You can have 10 "accounts" on 10 different servers, servers can fall and it's still ok because there are 9 still up.
The con is that you don't have a simple, publicly usable pointer to you like a mail address or a phone number. Turns out it's the best defense against spam, creepy weirdos, trolls, so it's not that problematic.

It's a single-file wiki with everything embedded, so to modify it you actually do your changes then get the new index.html that you can push back to the hosting place. No server-side process, no scaling issues, SEO-friendly, portable, backupable, etc...
This means your pages would retain the classic wiki change log, so that it can all be generated from a Git repo that's small enough to keep on a floppy disk.

You should try to find your community that aligns with you, but with software and communities that favor common working there's little chance it will not be left leaning

It is impossible for capitalist entities to not try to exploit and make it bad. They took control of web 2.0 by being middlemen, interfaces between providers and consumers, through APIs. An API is nothing spectacular: it's just one way to interface with a system, with the particularity that the system chooses what can be done, how it to be done, who can do it, etc... perfect for control. What is bluesky doing ? An app, connected to the big firehose that takes lots of resources to run and will only take more as more people will join. Bluesky is everyone doing their stuff on their own but to make it work you have to go through Bluesky's relay to make sure you don't miss something. Yes, alternative relays exist, just like alternative online retailers exist; that doesn't make Amazon disappear. The power of the Default is strong.
Bluesky is putting all the cost (storage, app dev, even moderation) on the outside and keeps an eye on the flow, because that's where data, hence money, is.
The only way to the old web, the web 1.0 or however it's called is without capitalists in it, there's no way around it. What shoul matter is how to make AT sustainable without bluesky (and any capitalist alternative), and should be the primary goal
Be aware that if you have a single machine syncthing won't work.
