I've started creating an ansible playbook. I've added flatpaks, os specific packages, Firefox extensions, samba Mount point services in there. As of now I use it for PC (Ubuntu) and laptop (Fedora) only 3 is packages needed separate names. I'll have a look at tuxmate as suggested in other post but just running playbook once every week also does update.
In my case I find signal updates (through notification) way too often.
I've actually added "Guardian project" repo to F droid specifically for signal auto updates. It comes with few other good apps. (This is generally a day slower than notification update, I just ignore notification for a day)
I've been testing coding capabilities a bit (mostly scripts - so that work done by ai is reproducible).
Context size is very much a required thing along with model capabilities.
Local model can generate good enough script in one shot - but reiterations r crazy
Use git to keep files tracked (easy to revert) and make a modular script - main script calls function a, function b etc where functions are relatively self contained (no need to look at others) when u need new capability add function c
If something need changing- try to do it urself (unless it's whole architectural change, then just start new project)
As for image gen + chat . as long as chat model + context + image model fits, u should be fine.
Bought b70 with egpu enclosure and usb4 connection wasn't really planning to actually run anything but now ended up with llama.cpp with openwebui - kids/parents want to/have to use chat, might as well provide local solution than them using industry options. Also started with ollama and Gemma 4 26b a4b - asked it to write script to setup llama.cpp in container.
I see, at least initial read/reviews seem to mention Zen removes Firefox telemetry and AI so that's good.
(I also have waterfox installed but didn't really use it as main browser)
Now need to see if flatpak Firefox is supported by this script.
Would anyone know if this would work for all Firefox derivatives as well? Zen browser in my case.

What I'm looking for is very superficial (apart from atomic distro). I'm looking to see if I like using distro. I've exact same packages on my fedora (laptop) and pop os (desktop), I keep thinking I still like pop os (maybe just what I'm used to).
Oh interesting, I may need to look into atomic distro more. As of now I don't understand what are features, pros/cons. I'll read up but it's definitely looking like way forward for me.

I'll check this, when it's VM I don't generally spend required time to use it (my problem). I just get on primary os, do whatever I wanted and log off. This is the main reason I'm hesitant of VM.

Yup. I got so wrapped up in "I need to provide this solution" I forgot to think about terminology.
headscale + tailscale. U will need a very small vps for headscale though.
I use Waze, I've no idea how much "not Google" is it, since it's owned by Google. I'm trying comaps more and it's quite good.
Most of the time I use osmand and now comaps (with sherpaTTS)
However I still have waze and magic earth installed for when I must reach somewhere on time.
There is Valhalla routing for osmand, which suppose to have traffic data but last time I checked it wasn't ready yet.

Ventoy or liveusb is good for installing something but doesn't seem good idea to actually run long term.
I actually run proxmox on my homelab. What does unraid bring over pve? I didn't think of running proxmox on desktop
