I have an issue with Fediverse, Lemmy to be exact. The platform is allowing an outside tool that was built for a mod or admin of a community to see votes, how people vote, but it is being exploited by users to spy/dox/harass, gang-up, and use as a tool to exploit other users nefariously. The tool is called Lemvotes. You can access the portal here. Here is a quote from a user (go $fsck yourself @ lemmy.world) who exploits this sharing how to use it with other users;

There’s a few ways of seeing votes. IMO they should be visible all the time. Moderators can see the votes of posts and comments in the subs they moderate. Admins can see all votes federated to their instance. Users have to use a separate tool for it. In this case I used Lemvotes.

This tool, imo, should be banned, or the platform to be "patched" to only allow this to work for admins, not users who abuse it.

Haven't found any list, but here it is noted a few items and timing;

When do Aldi's summer savings start?

Aldi's price cuts began June 5 and will be valid through Labor Day.

The price cuts will likely save shoppers about $100 million – similar to the amount of money shoppers collectively saved with reductions last year and more than the $60 million shoppers saved in 2023. What are some products at Aldi that will be less expensive?

Clancy’s: Chili Lime Potato Chips - was $1.89, is now $1.79.
Friendly Farms: 2% Ultra-Filtered Milk – was $4.39, is now $3.89.
Millville: Protein Pancake Mix – was $3.79, is now $3.49.
Mama Cozzi’s: Mini Pizza Bagels – was $6.29, is now $5.99.
Summit: Popz Prebiotic Soda - was $1.59, is now $1.49.

Under Arch it hasn't dropped to Stable yet, so unless you are running the testing branch, you won't have to worry. I think it took 5.27 two weeks or so to get to the stable branch after its "release," so you are probably looking at early to mid March. By then, we should also have Plasma 6.1 drop, ie, updates.

Just an update on this, Patch 5 was released and it was a huge update. Once again, even the developers recommend downloading the whole game again with Patch 5 included. To my knowledge, both Fitgirl/DODI are still offering outdated versions. You can get the latest game + Patch5 on 1337z by IGGGAMESCOM, works well for me.

Reddit 2.0...already migrating off this censorship.

You can use LASIM app (Windows/Mac/Linux) to migrate your profile and settings to another instance. Highly recommend.

There is no linux version. Steam/Valve has been updating their proton versions to work with BG3. I would recommend using their 'proton experimental.' If you buy from GOG, you can use Lutris, they have a runner that should install everything needed to run BG3, and it also lists some tweaks to make.

You could go with System76, I think they have a high-end "graphics" laptop, which would be suitable for gaming. Open source company so you are guaranteed everything is compatible with Linux.

However, if money is an issue or you find something else you like, for example the Dell XPS laptops ( in the past have been very compatible with linux,) here is a tool to check the model and/or the parts (important) such as wifi, etc., to see if they are compatible for a lot of laptops.

With the gaming industries increasing prices, piracy is the best way to sample a game, much like the old music stores would allow you to listen to tracks in store before purchasing. No one wants to plop down $70 and get a turd.

Also, we pirates are saving older games the gaming industry no longer want to support or offer. ARRRRRRHH!!!

I get the open source support part of your comment, but you are taking out the fact Steam/Valve has done a lot ...A LOT...to get games working on Steam. Additionally, for the first time every they have driving Linux marketshare higher than MacOS as a result. So, to dismiss them completely is wrong. They have done a lot for linux....and linux gaming.

More than three-quarters of a million households in the state of California are behind on their rent, and now it appears that a tsunami of mass evictions is coming…

More than 768,000 households are behind on rent in the Golden State, with debts totaling more than $5 billion, putting approximately 721,000 children at risk of eviction, according to the National Equity Atlas—a collaborative data and analytics tool founded by Oakland-based Policy Link and the University of Southern California Equity Research Institute.

Residents in the City of Los Angeles are facing a deadline of Aug. 1 to repay all rental debt accrued between March 2020 and September 2021, with that from October 2021 to January 31, 2023, due by February 2024.
