Maybe it helps to say that this was in no way forced on me. The stuff my employer has done to "adapt AI" is laughable and seemed to be nothing more than lip service to the execs who want to slap that sticker on the product.
The gains for me personally have been strictly using it as a tool in niche situations. I prefer to do things the hard way when it's for me but I'm not breaking my back for a corporation.
I work at a sales-first (read: no accountability) software company, ran by inept nepo-babies and a hostile VC. I frequently have to completely re-do all of the sales engineering work when a new project starts, because they refuse to standardize or talk to each other.
After enough time doing this shit by hand, I took my best examples from previous projects and had an agent "fix the errors based on the conventions I established over here". Instead of going line by line on these big serialized data formats now, I do about 10min of checking the results and editing down the change log.
It's wack that I have to re-do someone else's job still, but at least I can force some version of standardization without killing myself on the tedious bits.
I was having legitimate eye strain issues before using dark mode in more places. I also only have vision in one eye, so that factor is in the mix. Anyhow, for me, dark mode is more of an accessibility tool, not "some hobbyist thing".
I ended up running the element-call stack for our matrix server. Has worked great for group vid calls and screen sharing so far. I don't think it had audio for screen shares, the only item missing from your list
They told you all the best stuff honestly. If you're into alcohol you'll have no trouble finding it. Amazing city though. The food culture there is incredible.

I spent most of my time researching and forming an action plan, arguably the most important piece. Within two hours I had a Matrix server stood up with element-web, as well as coturn for calls. Setting up Element-Call for groups took a little longer, but not terrible all told.
I guess what I'm saying is if you're experienced with a given task, it can be a really great tool to speed things along. If you want to sit back and have it run the show, you're going to have a rough time.
Where I live, we codified anti-gerrymandering into the state constitution. Didn't stop republicans from pushing a blatantly unconstitutional district map. The response was "well, we'll review it, but it's our only option". It feels like they're saying "fuck you, there's nothing you can do to stop us", and short of blatant political violence? I think they are right.
Many of these people weren't even legally elected to their positions. They do not represent us. Our state and federal governments have been corrupted and abused by people with huge amounts of capital, for many many decades now.
Oh man, my wife HATES the omelette episode, it's too real for her. I tend to do better with the kids when we cook together, but it's also down to the projects I pick. Making pasta from scratch is messy, fun, and you can be imprecise. Baking (her specialty) is not so forgiving.

In literally every rural town I've been in, there's a Mexican restaurant, and it's always the town favorite. Celebrating a birthday? You're getting some fajitas.
If you ever find yourself hungry and trapped in the boonies, the Mexican restaurant is usually a safe bet.
Depends on the setup. Maybe you run everything off a raspberry pi and can't afford to transcode 4k, so you have a separate 4k library for local users only. I could also see wanting to separate the volumes when you have multiple servers attached to a single NAS.
IDK, I don't personally bother with 4k, but I imagine it's a little more to manage if you're sharing your media out with friends/family.
I haven't bothered with torrents since we cancelled all our streaming services. Usenet is so good right now. SABNZBD, Sonarr, Radarr, Plex, Overseerr for my family requests/Plex share users. Finding a few good providers/indexers was really cheap (Black Friday sales were great last year).
It definitely takes a lot of fucking around/learning initially, but once you've set it up right, it's seamless.
Somewhat related - I hear real-debrid is a pretty slick way to basically stream torrents, if you don't have access to a bunch of physical storage. Haven't tried it myself, but people seem to dig it.
