That storm was intense! I saw probably 3 flashes lighting up my bedroom every ten seconds. I tried taking a picture, but alas, I didn't capture anything of interest.
This is depressing to me. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely understand the issues with the structures, but done right, they really improve the experience. I remember enjoying a wonderful dinner at Old Homestead before their meat quality went down outside in the dead of winter with the heater making it very pleasurable. That won’t be a possibility now.
Just when we thought 2023 couldn't get any more interesting, it looks like we've got a 'Jaws' sequel happening live right here off Long Island. #SharkSummer
I think the "troubled" aspect was that they had a great thing going opening 17 stores, then they had a deal with Disney that fell apart and caused their company to go bankrupt and get acquired by an intermediate company. Then it died again under a new owner.
They actually started a new shop in Brooklyn after losing Ample Hills and I went in there a while back and as I paid, I mentioned Ample Hills shutting down to the employee. During the brief conversation, they mentioned the owners are pretty awesome.
So yeah, it warms my heart to think they got their original company back.
I'm partly in the same boat. I'm usually away during most of those weekends for random reasons, and I think I one time stumbled upon it by mistake. I definitely need to make an active plan to check it out this year.

One good thing to come out of the pandemic is the regular cleaning of the trains. I regularly see employees at the Oculus E terminal around with disinfectant and rags. I hope they keep that up even after they invest more money on train service.
I've never been to any of these. I'll have to check out the Square Diner at some point since I live relatively close. I love the experience you get at a good diner.
I always plan to go to these various outdoor film showings around the city every summer and only made it to one–by mistake. Who knows, maybe this will be the year!
So regardless of whether he is a human weapon who should have known better or not, the question is:
Will this incident have a chilling effect on people who might have otherwise saved the day if somebody in the future is threatening, and possibly about to follow through on hurting or killing bystanders?
I've got huge mixed feelings about the congestion pricing. I'm a lower Manhattan resident and actually (regrettably) own a car in the city. I think residents who actually live here should probably get a free pass, as should certain commercial vehicles. I'm definitely not down with penalizing the needy, so it would be nice to see that new revenue go toward improving public transit. But it probably won't.

It's easy to forget there are restrooms in some stations. The only one I've been to is the one at Times Square and its really not terrible!
