Read the debian release docs about the major upgrade when that time comes. They sometime contain important adaptations to make your upgraded install similar to a fresh one.
Windows need a regular reinstall. Not so much on linux.
My daily driver at work is the same install from 2000. I was so impressed with debians abillity to do a major upgrade, that it kind of became a game, to see how long i could upgrade it. A fresh install and copy over /home would have been more sane ;)
Also with lvm you can migrate your running install to a new os drive while working. So hardware swap is a 5 min process. Boot new hw on old disk, with usb adapter. pvmove the install to the new drive. Install grub.
I do fresh installs on many other machines tho. My daily driver at home and the emergency laptop is installed when they are aquired, and upgraded as long as the hardware functions.
Firefox's total cookie protrction is excelent. Basically cookies are sandboxed into site spesific boxes. So ie a facebook cookie can not be read by the favcebook script on another site. Only on the site that set the original cookie.
Afaik there is a docker compose as well. It is probably all of the above. Alignment with elements seems like it just by the name. And easier setupbif you want all the bells and whistles you can add onto matrix.
For some that might be a bad thingnif it exclude some clients. While other wsnt the features.
I run my own server for friends and family. And there are more abd more optional addons that may have made that server suite a more sane place to start when selfhosting. I have not evaluated it tho, but thought you should know about it.
My personal opinion is that things that let you curate your own content like lemmy/reddit is good(ish) and things where the company curate the feed is more a trap. But i am not a scientist, just curious.
This is an example of a problematic statement. Due to one link to a technical paper. You try to paint kovarex with the actions of another person. Claiming a "history of problematic statements" is just a blatant lie. This type of slander is imho a more problematic statement then kovarex linking of a technical paper.
I myself have never researched the history of every author, on every webpage i have ever linked to. It is just not a reasonable ask.
Thank you for beeing the voice of reason. Factorio have just improved and improved over the years. A game that have been neglected for a decade needs sales ofcourse. Factorio is not that.
I do not know how, but factorio is better value for money then all the gratis games i have on steam.
This is the absolute great thing about debian. The transparency. There is drama everywhere, but with debian it is all out in the open. Not something you have the read between the lines from a pr story.
Really? I must not have much to say ;)

Just based on the names. But I assume things like element call is implementable by other clients as well.

Hanlons razor.. probably just lots and lots of peaple + stupidity. But it could very well be both..

I am not saying you are wrong. But you need to show us unbiased research that contradict the research that does show a link.
Heck even meta's own research (as biased as it gets) show a significant link.

Now that is shocking to hear. You do not have to deal with the whims of the general public. One would imagine anything would be better.
If everyone had save states the world would not yet have completed one whole day. Stuck perpetually in a time loop until everyone was happy?
Wtf! A teachers union was still on X ??

It must be real the story (without the pictures) is older then the internet.

Debian is fucking great!
Did we read the same article? Where was the ai-only part?
That is not the vendor lock in that they crave.
