There is a bug in that it will only load a limited amount of assets per frame. If you reduce fps, then loading will be artificially limited in speed. Look for a mod that fixes this.
Small update after using it for a couple of weeks:
Installed apps:
cloudLibrary
Handy News Reader (rss)
Handy News Reader:
getpocket's rss to save stuff to read later
lemmy rss feed
various other
Main use cases:
read up on news through HNR: works very well, it has builtin nav buttons to avoid scrolling
read pdf documents: use NeoReader, works excellently
read (epub-style) ebooks: use NeoReader+cloudLibrary, both work very well
play Solo RPG: take notes, navigate in different tables; requires frequent switching between note app and NeoReader. Not ideal, split screen mode would result in too little screen estate for the pdf. I've setup the android 'recently used' shortcut as swiping up bottom left, but still not ideal.
Battery Life:
ebook reading: excellent: a couple %/h
pdf reading: good: <10%/hour
general usage: frequent app switching, ...: reasonable ~10%/h
So I've been using it intensely for a couple of days. I think it's a very good match for what i wanted to do. (multi-doc switching + separate note taking, with color). I do have a couple of enhancement requests that I'm going to submit to the software team. Quite nice battery life for pure reading as well.
Their plan is definitely to leave locations where working conditions are not in their favor. Not so lol for the people losing their jobs, though right? :-(
So, Werchter '23 is over. This was the first edition I was planning to not go. Didn't regret it it, too few of the old gang managed to get there. So now I'm officially old :-)
I do wonder how effective this would be if for example a multinational can simply withdraw from Belgium or even the EU :-( Even if the argument was made that it was more efficient or at least not less efficient than the status quo, a lot of these companies have a very heavy US-biased view on work-life-balance (see for for example the current RTO initiatives as well).
I think it depends on your personal state of mind. Some people might enjoy being deconnected more and others just the additional 'buffer' of time around worktime.
I found that even one additional hour per day to spend on family and enjoyment was improving my work output in a way that it almost negated the one hour of worktime lost.

Really nice, these updates!

I'll share my experiences in this community once mine arrives.
Not yet, I'll definitely look into it. Thanks for the recommendation!
Thanks, I'll definitely check it out!
I'd also really like to try out some space-opera-like Fate system. Think StarFinder but in a Fate system.
Any solo-playable systems/settings that you'd recommend?
13th Age
Fate Core
I'm still learning the system myself. I expect it can run both, mostly depending on gm and group.
feels much better, well done to all involved!
FATE is something I'm planning to expand
Bundle Of Holding for everyone's rpg fix :-D
very nice song!

The measures planned for Huntsman include reducing the presence in several European countries. “As too Moving to facilities that reflect the company’s future needs and an intention to move some jobs to new locations note that is HQ (not a plant, ie driven by energy costs). Also note that they reference inflation, but this 'only' impacts this place by means of wage cost. The HQ is being relocated to a place with 'better' conditions (in the EU for now, but mainly Poland).
