Bump. I know thebrainbin.org uses Anubis, so probably no Cloudfare? Not 100% sure if they automatically accept registration, but there doesn't appear to be any "enter a reason why you want to join" field like on a bunch of Fediverse sites that don't.

Someone on !crochet@lemmy.ca asked me about crossposting over here - if posts like these (without real snakes) are not allowed/welcome please let me know!

Thank you!

Looking at two articles I'm not sure it'd count as mosaic crochet since I only worked into the last round, never* the round before that. I think it's just a colour change?

Sometimes I carried the unused thread all the way, sometimes I crocheted it in for the first stitch or two of using a new colour and then left it to grab later (this makes it so there's free thread going through the middle). This applies to the stripes on the tail, too - it's just starting and ending the second colour in different places, no working into rows already worked into.

/*aside from whatever that was once or twice when there was a big enough hole ;')

Here's a view from the top. Most of the body was just continuously crocheted curved (dec on one side, inc on the other), then I sewed it up a bit to hold the shape I wanted. It's kind of short for a snake, since its length was mostly depended on the belly colour which was (at the start) 1 used, continuous ball and 2 balls of scraps, but I'm happy it got as far as it did anyway ;)

Not sure about favourite, but:

Clint's Reptiles (zoology, not just reptiles) is nice! Not sure how I feel about the reaction content, but he does stuff like animals-as-pets reviews, animal phylogeny videos (evolutionary trees) and some other videos that might be more interesting/understandable to watch.

Cleo Abram (various science and tech stuff) is fun, though I mostly see/watch the shorts. Similar with NileRed (chemistry), but his videos can be pretty long, haha

There's also an official animated series of xkcd's "What If?"! The videos aren't long, but they're fun.

To be honest, I don't think I paid much attention to that being a thing haha (although fedia has notes, not tags). Back when I used Discord I sometimes added notes, mostly about nicknames and stuff - but this isn't my "chatting with friends and recognising people" space, so not sure I'll use them.

Seems it varies instance by instance. On fedia I can hover over someone's username with my cursor and alongside some info on their account there's a field for notes (haven't tested to see if it saves between devices, but there is a save button, so maybe it does). I don't see a note option on my mander account.
