My beans often break up in cooking before they are cooked through, then are on the mushy side by the time all are cooked. What method do you use for cooking your beans? I have started adding salt and pinch of baking soda to the soaking water after I read about that supposedly helping. But still get mostly broken beans.

It is adorable when your cat brings their toy to where you are. 😊 I had a cat before that would drop its fuzzy toy on the shower while I was showering because they like a wet toy thrown for them. 😍

What about using cooked oatmeal? Would that fix that problem? Like the large flake kind, so it kept its texture.
