Baby boomers are collecting 265% of what they paid into Social Security

Brief recap on how retirement savings work: you invest, and the money grows. See also: inflation adjusted dollars.

and millennials are paying the price

Fucking headslap. We have a basic understanding of how SS works. My kids will be “paying the price” for Millennials. This is nothing but inter generational rage bait.

Rebuild all the schools in my local district? Set up a permanent endowment for the Freedom from Religion Foundation? Turn as much land into nature preserves as I can possibly afford?

Maybe these aren’t “things” you “buy” but it doesn’t take much creativity to blow a billion. I think I just blew a whole bunch of them.

Thank you for this informational and well explained post!

So what’s the guy thinking when he signs these terrible deals? It may be the wrong thing to do but he’s thinking something at the time he does it, right? I don’t buy facile explanations like “he’s dumb” or “because capitalism.”

It’s so odd to ask children with cancer to make a wish. Don’t they all wish to not have cancer?

Asking this group to be discriminating in their hate for AI is never going to win you votes, but you’re completely correct.

They’ve done the decades of work to turn people against unions, convincing MAGAts that unions are proto-communist organizations that extort unfair wages though dishonest practices while sitting around not working. They have people looking over at them saying “how come you get paid so much?” Instead of “I should get paid that much too.”

People are dumb. Whatcha gonna do.

It does so based on their inputs though. That doesn’t mean people are entirely in charge, but I think it’s wrong to say they have no involvement and just receive whatever the silicon genie dictates.
