I was kind of annoyed with all the Gate praise after this article came out. Sure he decried Mr Sieg Heil, but he also said this:
“In some ways he is feeling more comfortable and vindicated than at any time in his life, so he is confident,” Gates said, explaining that he did not feel any reluctance to visit the populist rightwing president. “Well, he is the most powerful person in the world and his decision over whether to consider changing HIV funding alone would make the trip worth it, or to encourage Pakistan and Afghanistan to take polio eradication seriously.”
Gates added that he met Trump more frequently during his first term as president than he did Joe Biden during his Oval Office tenure. He said: “I had a lot of times when I would go to the White House and they would say, ‘We think you are going to see President Biden today,’ but six times in a row it didn’t happen,” adding that he was instead invited to meet the national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, or other staff.
Trump, Gates said, “has a lot of ability to help me … Is he going to fund infectious disease innovation or end it? I need to stay close. Whoever gets to enthuse President Trump about the right things, that is God’s work.”
My go-to is Guru, not on that list. I really like it as it is not a sugary sludge like the others. However, I recently discovered Celsius sparkling water and was pleasantly surprised.
It's different here (at Walmart at least), they leave all their reusable bags at the self checkout where you can just buy them. But there is a lot of staff and the area is like a bullpen, so there is only one exit and there are employees looking at the carts' contents.
As for the bags, for sure it's a contentious topic. And I agree with you. As I mentioned in another reply, I see a lot of the sturdier reusable bags for sale at thrift store, they have to roll them up and put them in a bin they have so many...
Where I live (Montréal, Canada) plastic bags are banned everywhere. You either bring your own or buy a reusable at the cash. Some places (like grocery stores) also sell paper bags. You get used to it. If you have a car you leave a bunch of reusables in the trunk, if you don't you just have to remember to bring one with you. The also sell some super thin ones you can carry in your pockets that are sturdy and large enough for a small run at the grocery store.
Considering the state the world is in, I'm at a point where news like this leave me totally indifferent. I used to feel concerned about privacy and freedom of choice when it comes to consumer goods but right now, with this company? I couldn't give less of a shit.
If you are rich enough to buy one of these abominations, you are rich enough to put pressure on the manufacturer to tell them you are not ok with this (if in fact that is the case).

I live in Canada. I never cease to be flabbergasted by laws in the US. It's like living next to a time warp.
I wonder if it's a mobile thing because I have the same issue on my tablet (which I completely gave up using for Walmart) but never on my PC.
Ran across the same problem recently. Ended up using Bing, of all things lol
I do the same. I use FeedBro (a Firefox add-in) on the pc and Feeder on Android.
I agree, it's a tiny step in the right direction, but definitely too little too late.
Tangentially related but I rewatched Face/Off last night and realised he has a very short role, extremely foreshadowing.
Same, and I also like the channels subscriptions so everything is in one place. But I also pirate a lot so I guess I'll have to do it even more!
Weirdly I love honeydew as a flavor (like bubble tea) but prefer cantaloupe as a fruit (cantaloupe flavored things just sounds wrong).
What? I had no idea... I think this may be what will send me over the edge.

Yes, and also for the compost. I used to store a few as well but they are so thin now, it's not worth it.
I agree. I have a drawer full and a bunch in my car. I see a lot of them for sale for a buck at thrift stores, it's kind of funny and sad.
