I don't think folks expect to restart when the pre-order perk is 3-days early access... But we live in a world with day one patches on every single game too 🙃
If they were actually concerned about it, Valve could have done real NDA's and/or plastered the build info and user name on-screen like most game tests. They've done it in the past so I assume this was a calculated risk/choice.
Worked for Blizzard before all the Xbox layoffs... The confusing actions are mainly because the gaming division is now it's own company within Microsoft and responsible for its budget and making revenue for the first time in XBOX's history. The leadership level all got promotions and new titles, they shared new org charts to everyone, and then the layoffs and closures began almost immediately. It's no longer about making their user base grow but about making money so expect their games everywhere and to see Game Pass lose features and raise prices.

I moved my email to Hey and ProtonMail so am using their apps. Doing that allowed me to push reset on what goes to each address and how I sort/filter/etc. Gmail is now my junkbox like Yahoo was forever ago.
They did such a bad job in court... focused entirely on CoD which they already had offers for everyone to get for 10yr minimum. How you gonna win that case?
I just got a BOOX Tab Mini C this week and love it so far. Color is 150dpi vs B/W being 300dpi, but its not super noticeable. It's using the newest eink color system, Kaleido 3, and it's so much better than previous versions. Maybe not ready for every casual reader/consumer expecting OLED quality color, but as an eink / ereader nerd its wonderful.
Images get compressed and sent super tiny. Replies to specific texts start entirely new message threads. If someone leaves the group the whole convo stops and your in an empty new message history. Reactions come through as text replies and don't specify which message it was in reference to. Etc...

It really depends on how much of the side-story stuff you do. For me, that was the much more enjoyable aspect of the game so I only progressed the main story as it blocked missions for side-characters I was invested in.
That is one of my favs! Seeing all your bad runs at the end of a level makes the frustration kinda fun, and having zero time between death and restarting rules. Glad you're enjoying it this time around!
That's partly because of actions taken by various governments. Who knows what tech would look like today if Microsoft from the 90s forced us all into Internet Explorer.
Also, more successful examples would be Google. They have done this very thing several times but then keep messing it up lol
I think of "retro" as pixel-based and early 3D games that were sorta killed during the PS1/Saturn/N64 era.
Once we get into more advanced 3D / Polygonal games (PS2/GameCube/Xbox), it's a different era; but it's not due to the visual shift alone, but the design philosophy and craft/code itself. I would consider them "modern" and point to series like Zelda as an example.
Games like WindWaker feel more connected to Breath of the Wild than it does to Link to the Past or even Ocarina of Time. And I think the same goes for series like Mario, Metal Gear, and so on.
Without the restrictions of being on App Stores and going through reviews, devs can move so much faster. I feel like two or three times a day it tells me a new version can be grabbed, and it's caught up to and bypassed the alpha/beta apps from Testflight which get updated once a week (if lucky).
I don't get why? It's a great game
It's a fun game but an ultra competitive market. Either show you're in it for the long haul or most players will never give you a chance.

It’s mostly a problem with SMS. But yeah it would be awesome if they’d meet Android halfway and adopt some of the RCS stuff

If you are in a friend group that does group messages then maybe. It can get pretty annoying
