As mentioned though, your HA instance needs Bluetooth for this. My HA is in a virtual machine so plugging a dongle was less than ideal. I solved it instead using a esp32 Bluetooth proxy over Ethernet.
I'm glad I set it up, because being 'forced' to use a google/apple phone for setting up matter on my local network feels like a really stinky pattern. I'm glad I don't need to :)

I found the intentional lean into a more retro style to be fun, but my biggest gripe is also related to that - because they didn't commit to it hard enough.
The show may look visually somewhat retro, but it felt crazily fast-paced like it was designed for the attention span of a tiktok addict. In that sense it was a thoroughly modern show (in the worst sort of way) and failed to embrace what was supposed to be its selling point.
It would have been a much better show in my opinion if it had simply slowed down a bit.
I don't have a musical instrument, but if I did you bet your ass I'd be keeping it in my sight rather than let the cargo handlers beat the absolute shit out of it.
If overhead bins are for anything, they should be for important things like that.

When you deliver a talk in real life, you don't just stand there like a statue as you click through the slides.
Good presenters know it engages the audience a lot more if you move around the room, motion at the slides, use hand gestures to emphasise your point. People fundamentally respond better to that, and that's just human nature.
Stick figure animation is the equivalent for YouTube presenters who don't want to show their face.

Commissioning Matter devices using Graphene may not work due to the commissioning flow requiring Google Play Services.
I had that problem. If your Home Assistant instance itself has Bluetooth, you can use the manual flow to work around it:
In HA:
Settings -> Connectivity -> Matter -> Options -> Add Manually
