The switch looks solid enough (see my other comment for pictures), which is probably why they never realized the mistake, and to be fair, it has worked without problems for years of daily use. (Which is not to say I trust it looking back. The switch does not offer a ton of isolation of the mains power…)

The idea to embed a compact phone charger is a good one. Any recommendations on how wire the plug? Cut it off and solder + heat shrink the cables? The enclosure probably won’t open non-destructively…
Embedding the charger in the lamp will also keep the cable as is, meaning I still keep the whole lamp grounded :)
Eh, we’ve done pretty well with transmitting power. So although I do agree that spreading the load is always better, it should not be compromising the costs. As putting it “everywhere” also comes with some downsides.
Well, we could also stop adding a certain percentage of biofuel to our cars. The land that we gain from that, if covered by solar panels, would produce enough energy to cover all our energy demand.
Well. It’s more that a rim will almost never fail in this way when overpressuring your tires (the sides are more likely to fail) and 4.5 bar is nowhere close to overpressure for an aluminum ryde rim.
Salt can corrode aluminum yes. A more common occurrence is people riding their bike on a hometrainer and the handlebars breaking due to the corrosion caused by the sweat from their hands.
The fact is that pressure is force per unit of surface. So your car tires are holding in a lot more force than your bike tires, even though the pressure is lower.

No starlink is bad. It’s currently deorbiting 1-2 satellites a day, which means half a ton of aluminum and other metals burnt up in the atmosphere.
Current ambition mean they will need to start deorbiting 3-5 satellites per day.
We don’t know yet what ecological impact this will have. But I’m having a hard time accepting such wasteful energy and material consumption.

You can see a DNS server as a phone book for your computer. Your computer needs to seek a connection to an ip address to display a website for example. But you as a user only knows the url of the website. So your computers asks the dns server which ip address it should go to.
The problem the government faces is how to make a distinction between moped and a classic e-bike. Because from the factory there is no real difference apart from “oh it looks a bit like a moped”.
My vote goes to setting the minimum age for assisted riding at 16 (except medical reasons) or at least obligating having a helmet under the age of 18 (to protect their poor undeveloped brains).
Which will immediately kill the attraction which is to ride a moped without helmet.
The real challenge is regulating e-bike unlocking in general (as well as adding a throttle). Which is hard because the electronics can quickly be set back to factory with a click of a button.

Well they were. But these fatbikes bring them on par, with a throttle instead of having to pedal, a riding stance similar a scooter and an unlocked speed limit.
Although I agree medication is certainly not needed if your QOL is fine, it is still the best moment to find out what type/dose/brand works best for you. Life can quickly take some unexpected turns and finding the right medication takes a while, as well as the process generally not being the most comfortable if you don’t get lucky on the first try.
Knowing if, and what kind of, meditation works for you could come in handy when problems start piling up.

Wait how much pressure are we talking about? Looks more like corrosion of some kind. Were you riding tubeless? Or seeing a lot of salt.
