But, sure, whatever- wait until your country decides to invade us and hope that we’ll take action since you spent three decades watching with your thumbs up your asses and failing to do anything while the rest of us accurately explained to you precisely what was going to happen.
This is why, unless you plan on running for office, you don’t naturalize in Japan. You’re forced to renounce your first citizenship and after doing so you’re still considered a foreigner for all practical purposes. You become effectively nationless, regardless of your passport or what it says on paper.
Good for these citizens, but there is less than zero public pressure on officials to change these shitty policies/procedures.

I’ve got about a dozen retro handhelds that are loaded with the same games but they’re all configured and modded differently simply for the love of tinkering. The time I’ve spent fooling around under the hood vs playtime is easily 50:1. But like… that’s what I buy them for.
