It's definitely speculation, but I'd say it's warranted.

The same thing applies when trying to sign up for a service without a big-name email address.

I unfortunately use cloudflare. They apparently charge the same price they pay for domain names.

What better options do we have? I really want to know.

It's what tribalism got us.

I guarantee you, most of the people voting for Trump don't get exposed to anti-conservative ideas because they're banned from interacting with liberals on most social media.

Each time someone gets banned on reddit for sharing a conservative viewpoint, however incorrect it may be, becomes a conservative for life and gets pushed further towards its culture.

We need more spaces on the internet where people can freely share their ideas without fear of censorship. Moderators can genuinely go fuck themselves with how much they've gotten in the way of allowing different sides to communicate. They helped cause this divide and do their damnedest to keep it going.

It'd be nice if we can have some kind of standard for torrents so we don't have a bunch of duplicates on our system.

For something like games, it just doesn't make sense to have the torrent and the install. It takes up so much space.

Portable installs are always best.

True, but there's a lot of stuff in the free software ecosystem that is just jank.

I expect things not to work at this point and don't get surprised when they don't. It's part of how we pour way more resources into abusive technologies over ethical ones. We can continue to be part of the problem (like a useful idiot), or pick our heads up and work towards the solution.
