The last thing I need is more crap around the house. I vastly prefer digital, as long as I get the files and can do anything I want with them.

That's your preference and that's fair.

However, one thing that many people are not grasping is that this decisions WILL affect them as well. The moment Sony is the only one where you can get your fix the prices will get higher and stay high because there is nowhere else where to buy PlayStation games. And that's why everyone should care about this .

Sony deserves every bit of hate for what they're trying to do.

I'll personally not give them another cent unless they revert that decision: No PS+, no other games, not watching any Sony movies and certainly not buying any of their hardware. Frankly even if they reverse their decision the damage to their brand is done and it would take time to regain the little trust I had.

The people defending Sony in some of the comments are frankly embarrassing. I get that some people may prefer the convenience of buying digital, that's fair. But the moment Sony PS Store is the only place where you can buy a game they have complete control over the price.

You may not care about things like preservation, having a disc, buying/selling 2nd hand, gifting (including receiving gifts, which is great for Christmas/birthday), refunds, games disappearing from your collection, etc...but you'll certainly care about the prices the moment the healthy competition from other stores/secondary market is gone.

Indeed, sad that privacy is seen as a "suspicious activity" these days.

Yes I agree with you.

In my specific case it was either "device fingerprinting" or because of Tor, which is not great on their part.

I do appreciate they have to somehow deal with a lot of bots and SPAM account so that's not an easy job. It just feels like some harmless users are getting banned unfairly. But as you said, it's all automated these days and it sounds like a lost cause :)
