Yea your not alone, I bought a Steam Deck bc of fomo, and resold my unit shortly after receiving it because I didn't like it. I'll continue to hold out for a future portable PC handheld. And I only had to watch one youtube review to tell I wasn't down for the ROG Ally, d-pad seems quite crappy.

Glad to hear about the Miyoo, was thinking about getting one of those for work, now you got me excited about it.

Been tempted to try to replace my RP2+ with a newer gen model, but dunno if I could ever give Abernic another shot with how bad I hated the one I had, but I'm sure all their devices are different so maybe I should. Also considering the Odin Lite.

Oh yea I don't mind paying, I'm not on fiverr to be cheap lol. Maybe I need to take a deeper look, most people on fiverr I had trouble with if what I wanted them to make me was more complicated than like a one sentence description lol. So I've never successfully had web design done off it.

However for things that require little to no explaining like getting a portrait made it's been awesome.

Rofl, it's a hobby, you do it for fun, you shouldn't need to get paid. I also play tennis as a hobby and I love to talk to people about it without charging them money believe it or not. The fetishization with internet fame, views, and money is making gaming weird.

I mean back when I was more into gaming I would contribute. I didn't expect money, I just did it because I was fun. I feel like there's a big disconnect between the current generation and my generation that wrote 300 page guides on gamefaqs for the hell of it rofl.

I mean I would argue it's related, the reason behind it is $$$. Corporate interests have homogenized content and de-normalized diversity and community.

People who use to just post their excel sheets and research on some bb forum for free somewhere starting getting paid by icy veins or maxroll. Overtime they establish a monopoly on the content and can do whatever the hell they want.

Why make a platform that depends on the community and you get the ad views when you can adopt a business strategy that also gets you youtube and social media views while eliminating your competition.

And the youtube trend is just people trying to emulate the handful of people who managed to make it big off the twitch/youtube bag.

Dunno if its any better than what you are already using, but I just use TV-Out + Interlacing preset. I actually made a thread about this on libretro, here are the answers I got.

That answer suggesting crt1-tap is new since last time I checked it.. might have to give that a try when I get home.

Problem is 480p is simply not enough pixels for most shaders to do their thing. If I was to upgrade to the RP3 this would be my main reason.

Oh I get it, and I wasn't even blaming kbin, for all we know the issue is on lemmy's side, they have an open github issue for non-lemmy federation. I'm just saying the ecosystem as is relies on two separately developed platforms maintaining interoperability with each other.

I'm working on starting up a community here as I get time, /c/trackers

Not much atm but I plan to keep working hard on it, feel free to post, just don't look at the wiki, I just did a rough first draft yesterday and its riddled with typos and grammar errors lol

Nice, I might just do that plus the Grammarly free, just want to do some technical writing for my community wiki and wanted it to sound good lol

Not a boring answer, Super Mario RPG was the goat. It took beloved but normally lighthearted and silly characters and put them in an epic story, long before Kingdom Hearts ever did. Blew my mind as a kid.
