I mean, it does seem like you can just hide that and the first result is right below the sponsored ones.

Like I know Google is a horrifying mess of ads but this seems like a standard kind of thing. At least there's no AI insight or one page full of garbage results.

I listen to Easy Japanese Podcast on YouTube, who release short conversations about any topic each day. I've been able to understand them better to the point I can tell you what they're talking about and what they segway to.

I am not yet able to make conversation, but I'm aware that it's not a quick process. I began less than a year ago and I think learning the sentence structuring is harder than learning kanji, lol. But that is only my opinion.

For grammar, words, and lexicon, I would recommend Human Japanese, which is a phone/windows app that uses the Genki textbook as it's basis. They have a demo for the first 3 chapters

Learning Japanese due to work and I made a habit of taking at least an hour or two after work to learn a few kanji symbols. It ain't easy but it sure feels satisfying to be able to understand what I'm reading every once in a while. I think I'm struggling more with grammar and sentence structuring due to how vastly different it is from English and Spanish. My goal is to pass the N5 test this year and I'm confident I'll be able to at this pace.

My sentiments exactly. Honestly, it's a waste of breath to have an opinion on Lemmy. I have been thinking I might as well put up with the reddit ads at this point. I don't really fall in with the hive mind. But of course, they'll say Reddit is the hive mind here.

I saw a post on one of the pro union groups (I believe it was lemmy.ml) where they started naming him Saint Luigi and how he should kill more CEOs... like what am I even supposed to think about that? Am much as I agree with a lot of the ideologies on these instances, It doesn't feel right despite the circumstances.

Whoops, gonna get down voted now, lol

Yeah, I expected this to happen so I'm indifferent about the negative replies. Thanks for the recommendation though, I'll start to give it a read on my break.

You're right. I suppose I should just read into it more. I was just frustrated that I've been seeing these frequently on my homepage and felt like I had to comment

I understand the issue. I suppose I'm just not as concerned as the people in this forum are. When I saw this meme I was only thinking about the practicality of renting vs owning a place. I can see why most people are upset about my view of things, but then I was already aware people would be downrating me for showing my perspective. Regardless I felt like i needed to express my opinion nonetheless. I see a lot of these on my homepage
