What's next; banning certain letters from the alphabet, because they can be used for banned texts?

FuglyDuck@lemmy.world · 67 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I vote we just ban DeSantis because he’s a dick. Clearly adult content…

Brickhead92@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

He doesn't seem like much of an adult to me

I had to look this up, but it is a fact that certain letters were banned. I should not be so amazed. Back in the 1960's the Greek junta banned the letter Z, because it meant 'he is alive.'

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_junta

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z_(1969_film) the movie is a fictional, but based on the actual events.

I can readily understand that someone like Ron would have no idea why anybody would ever use a dictionary. 😅

There's a lot of smut in the Bible.

Speculater@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 2y (2 replies)

You mean the incest, beastiality, rape, and obsession with virginity would be considered ban worthy?!

Matricide patricide infanticide ..... Its got all the sides.

Perhyte@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Not to mention all the genocide.

Other places have gone after the bible where laws like this are in place.

Goferking0@ttrpg.network · 7 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Which is why they added exceptions for it after people got it removed.

HikingVet@lemmy.ca · 6 pts · 2y

Maybe they go after all Christian books ,you know the ones praising the glory of Yahweh, which is just a semitic war god (if you pay attention to history).

Once when I was a kid, our pastor gave a sermon. Something about lions.

But he mixed up how to spell lions. He was old. So all the Bible verses he used were actually about loins.

That was a funny lesson and complete waste of time.

But there are a lot of loins in the King James Version

I remember that someone actually challenged the bible because of that.

Have you seen his poll numbers?

ShepherdPie@midwest.social · 5 pts · 2y

He also looks like both Joe Dirt's and Ricky's (Trailer Park Boys) dad. How fitting for a Floridaman.

lntl@lemmy.ml · 18 pts · 2y (1 reply)

How does Desantis cope with the internet? Is it banned in Florida too?

sebinspace@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y

Still here. For now.

I thought this was an onion article? Can someone confirm if this is satire? It doesn’t seem like a satire site but I still thought I would check. Because if not… I don’t even know what to say. I don’t even know.

intensely_human@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 2y

I mean it’s kinda satire in a way. Only one school district is interpreting the law this copiously. The others don’t seem to have trouble understanding the spirit of the law.
