I’m kind of tired of my nvidia GPU. I feel like my desktop is fairly unstable and I suspect it might be the culprit. What’s your experience been like using AMD?
edit: Y'all inspired me. I've just bought a new RX6600 for $180. Seems like a good deal. :)

6700xt user for the past 10 months maybe. Been zero complaints and the card has been performing great.

5700xt here. No issues to report. Performance and stability are great!

I can also vouch for both my Laptop and Desktop PC - although my Desktop isn't currently running Pop OS, when it did it ran fine with no real issues besides stuttering in Elden Ring at the time (Xorg). I assume it would have run way better in Wayland as I am currently using Cachy OS but ofc, that is Arch.
I do love PopOS on laptops though as it makes full use of trackpad gestures and overall, the OS is stable and doesn't require as much upkeep as an Arch base distro - but to your question again - AMD is fine on it.

AMD user of both CPU/GPU over here. Eh, its working as expected -- haven't seen any odd glitches or bizarre things like missing textures and the like if that is what you are wondering.

Have you had any stability issues? My desktop regularly crashes while gaming with my Nvidia GPU.
Also, have you tried wayland?
GustavoM@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 3y
Nope. Been running wayland for quite some time, actually -- around 3 years ago.

That’s awesome. Thanks for the info friend :)
