"A live body and a dead body contain the same number of particles. Structurally, there's no discernible difference. Life and death are unquantifiable abstracts. Why should I be concerned?"

- Vladimir Putin, probably

It’s because the vaccine was revealed to him in a dream.

Death is definitely one way to cure someone's cancer.

They don't use lead in ammunition any more.

NaibofTabr@infosec.pub · 34 pts · 2y

This is not correct. It's common for modern ammunition to be jacketed with copper or some other metal, but the core is still lead (or lead-tin alloy) because it's cheap, dense and soft enough to form into the rifling grooves while traveling down the barrel. Only special-purpose bullets are made with other metals.

Maybe the rumors about Putin having cancer are true, and this is what the scientists told him to not accidentally fall out of a window.

Starkstruck@lemmy.world · 25 pts · 2y

The vaccine just kills you, can't have cancer if you're dead! /s

Rapidcreek@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Is it as good as your Covid vaccine?

HootinNHollerin@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

They've discovered stolen HPV vaccines? Good on them!

frightful_hobgoblin@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 2y (1 reply)

They developed what might be the first cancer vaccine. USA government source.

I know you're being sarcastic, but vaccines against cancer-causing oncoviruses are not what's usually meant by "cancer vaccines" (though some people will sometimes use the phrase "cancer vaccines" to include that).

Cancer vaccines are more typically things like Imlygic which sets the immune system against melanoma.

Saeveo@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2y

They developed what might be the first cancer vaccine

If by "they" you mean Russia, that's not what your source says. It's a press release about Agenus (a US company) licensing their vaccine for production and sale in Russia.

they have entered into a license, development and manufacturing technology transfer agreement for Agenus' Oncophage® (HSPPC-96; vitespen) vaccine

TIMMAY@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Imagine if this was true lmao russia just cures all cancers. Honestly the world has been so bass ackwards lately that it almost makes a non-sense kind of sense

bradorsomething@ttrpg.network · 3 pts · 2y

Since I only need “Cow wins Nobel Prize” for a bingo on this card I would be so pissed if this is true.

Terr@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 2y

Such a shame they don't have a "dying in a pointless war" vaccine.

Sends cancer straight to gulag

frightful_hobgoblin@lemmy.ml · 7 pts · 2y

Exciting field for the next few years: we'll probably see a bunch of new cancer vaccines coming out.

Funny how the covid epidemic spurred our understanding of immunology and vaccines.
