But a lot vanish before they are observed.

Yes, but some genders can only exist in strict laboratory settings and often for only a very brief moment.

Aside, I like the implication that when things get hot and melty, though, folks end up being gender fluid.

Yeah, but it's the gender gas and gender plasma you really have to watch out for!

BluesF@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

The most interesting behaviour happens at the gender triple point. And don't get me started on Bose-Einstein condengender!

NONE_dc@lemmy.world · 28 pts · 2y

There are only two genders: ferrous or non-ferrous.

Why not “Ma” for “male”? Why is the women’s bathroom the “female bathroom” and the men’s is just “man” or “men” or whatever??

grue@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Why not “Ma” for “male”?

Because then it's the restroom for your mom.

VindictiveJudge@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 2y

edgemaster72@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

Iron Man

Iron -> Fe

Man -> Male

ergo, Iron Man -> Fe Male

moody@lemmings.world · 4 pts · 2y

Why didn't they just use tungsten instead of iron?

Ephera@lemmy.ml · 4 pts · 2y

I've never seen the English word for "manganese" and thought it was some "manga" pun, like anime.

It's kind of silly, too. The German word is even closer ("Mangan"), but I never realized the similarity.

eth0p@iusearchlinux.fyi · 2 pts · 2y

This looks extremely familiar... do all universities do this?

meowMix2525@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y

wise_pancake@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Imagine the conspiracy theories if they use the first letters of each sex "Fe" "Ma"

naun@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

They wind up with a humanitarian aid camp.
