Was holding the cat while my partner got ready for work, cat was all cuddles and kisses. I made a joke and said "you're going to work Mickey! We're gonna get you ready to go!" And Mickey full on freaked out, pushed off me and ran to the other side of the room away from the front door ๐Ÿ˜‚

I was like "I'm joking oh my god!" While my partner was just cackling about how the cat knows English.

The cat is too clever but has no sense of human humour haha

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 2y

Don't shirk the work Mickey. Peeps need to eat.

bacon@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y

My property manager went to the house next door, thinking it was mine, did an inspection then sent me an email saying everything is fine.

I had to message her and insist that she hadn't come to my house....

How do these people have jobs?

In other news a recruiter messaged me today. We have a meeting tomorrow ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿพ

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Good luck ๐Ÿคž

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y

Thank you!

calhoon2005@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Ha ha ha... Was it even a rental?...

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y

It was. From a private landlord ๐Ÿคฃ

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Good luck with the meeting! Yes it's rather shocking to think about who gets jobs out there... although REAs generally shouldn't be in the same category as jobs which are generally required to be useful to society

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Thanks! Hopefully recruitment starts picking up.

She was driving a brand new Merc. I was honestly blown away.

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Either mummy and daddy paid for the car or like most shysters, it's leased or heavily financed. I had a REA who was a relative overseas. It's all for show..

useless_modern_god@aussie.zone · 11 pts · 2y (5 replies)

Will these clash with my Aldi hoodie?

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y

Hm. The g string has a dog chain so you can keep your hands free. Interesting.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 2y

be sure to wear the g string on the outside of your yoga pants

Went to bed at 8pm last night cause i was wrecked. I had the electric blanket on low, kid was asleep and it was raining. Probably the most content I've felt in ages. Woke up today with nearly 12 hours sleep feeling a million bucks, just need my stomach to settle.

tone212_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y

I wish I had your level of sleep. Woken up very early this morning by one of my smoke alarms making a low battery warning sound. I swear that anytime this happens with any of the alarms, it's always in the middle of the night. Then took ages to get back to sleep. Alarm was neighbour's dog barking, the next door house is doing some sort of the renovation work and as soon as the trades turn up in the morning, the dog starts going off. Just a terrible night of sleep really.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 2y (5 replies)

I'm cooking curried sausages to celebrate this cold weather and the smell is making me so fucking hungry that dinner time is going to be early tonight.

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Oh man I'm craving a nice hearty dinner tonight too now. Think I'll do a massaman curry with some potat and mock beef and a side of Asian greens.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 2y

Ooo yeah.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

That sounds delicious. I could make a big pot and it would last a few days

just_kitten@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 2y

I can quaff that stuff alarmingly fast... especially in this cold weather, really drumming up an appetite.

Duenan@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y

Sounds yum. Iโ€™m going to do a hot bowl of noodles with soup considering how cold it is.

Been freezing all day at work due to a malfunction with the heating system.

I will make a project of trying to survive until May without touching the heater ๐Ÿ˜ค

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y

I used to be like that, but as I've gotten older I've realised that I would much rather be comfortable. Still, May is only a couple of weeks away ... Next week will be drier I understand, so not so chilly I hope.

bull@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 2y (1 reply)

2nd day in a row going into the office and I'm in again tomorrow too. I'm giving a demo of what I've been working on to a bunch of state government department CIOs.

Maybe I should just go in every day this week for a laugh.

Took myself out for dinner in Chinatown as part of some self care. It was loud, they took a long time to bring out my food and the internet was barely functional. On a tram heading home now. I did also stop at Breadtop which is also self care don't judge me.

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Breadtop ๐Ÿคค

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y

okay, a big bag of clothes for the opshop, and two pairs of shoes that I just can't wear when I have a bad back. Those boots are cute but just too high .

The best advice I've had, from neurosurgeons, I still follow, which was "rest", stay in bed

My Facebook feed keeps on showing my AI generated images of kitchens and houses. I end up spending way too much time trying to spot the errors. My favourites so far are electric lights hanging directly from glass roof panels, three faucets with no tap, and cupboards with hinges on both sides of the doors and the handle in the middle.

Anyone know where I can get a chauffeurs hat on short notice? I'm picking up my mother in law at the airport on the weekend and I heard she was a bit jealous that when my FIL went overseas the extended family sent a driver for him, sign and all so i thought I'd put on a show for her. (watching her either piss herself laughing or die of embarrassment is just icing on the cake).

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Google corporate cars. You should be able to get a quote or they often have fixed price for airport pickups. Last time I did that it was actually cheaper than a taxi, but it's been a while.

Edit: oh, re-read and realised you are just after a hat. ๐Ÿคฃ I can't help there. Unless you want to set up an elaborate scheme luring out a car to a remote location to steal their hat, but that seems to be be going a bit too far.
