I can't decide what the inverse would be.

Thinking they invented food. Pretending their grocery stores don't have junk food. Pretending they don't eat garlic bread when they think no one is looking.

In America we sometimes caricature France is like the quitters or coward in conflict. In Japan, they see Italy the same way.

Spaghetti is just ramen that surrendered

Moghul@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y (2 replies)

How does France factor into it? Spaghetti is Italian, isn't it?

Misread the comment, see replies

driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Is just a pararel between the way Americans see French people to how Japaneses see Italians.

Moghul@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Noodles were invented in China, so the inverse would be more accurate.

LikeTearsInTheRain@lemmynsfw.com · 7 pts · 2y

Ramen is anime lamian. Chinese pulled noodles.

lugal@sopuli.xyz · 6 pts · 2y

Italy is associated with spaghetti (see spaghetti western)

So the inserse would be "spaghetti ramen"

brb@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

It's not tho? Ramen is a dish and spaghetti is an ingredient

UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

Ramen noodles are an ingredient.

Also, since pasta noodles originated on the Pacific Coast, it would be more accurate to say that spaghetti is just Gangster Ramen.

Noodles come from Asia, not Italy.

Tomatoes come from America.

So not much in spaghetti is from Italy.
