This community is currently locked due to federated moderation issues

Since federated moderation remains semi-broken and this community having only one remote moderator left, I tried locking it, but even that seems to not have federated. Edit: This seems to have worked now.

I highly recommend using one of the other "Anarchism" communities linked in the sidebar.

Edit: if someone wants to take over moderation, that's fine. But I recommend someone with a Lemmy.ml account as federated moderation is still quite broken.

What’s the story with federated moderation? Just not propagating across instances or what?

poVoq@slrpnk.net · 11 pts · 2y

Lots of things just don't work when you as a moderator have an account on an instance that is not the same as the community you are moderating. Most annoyingly reports don't reach you 80% of the time, but also stuff like adding and removing other mods or apparently locking a community etc. Some of it will appear to work, but it never federates out, even to the instance the community is hosted on.

And in addition there is a huge problem with moderating communities on servers that have a different defederation list. For example I can't see posts and comments done in this community from an hexbear account, as slrpnk is defederated from hexbear, but lemmy.ml is not.

if you are the real poVoq you may remember me from the beginnings of this community, i would like this space to continue, i still have my account and i am online a lot, i can surely find some time to moderate and keep this space alive.

Can you point me to the alt-account that you are actually using? Because this one seems entirely unused?

A community about anarchy requiring a moderator is kind of ironic, isn’t it.

No it is not, and if you don't understand why that's on you (hint: that's like saying a canteen doesn't need someone that cleans up from time to time).
