This is ridiculous. Everyone knows bigger trucks reduce pedestrian casualties. They're easier to spot, and they inspire a certain primal fear that really encourages getting out of the way. Think of the children!
Yeah, that "preventing 67 deaths per year" bit seemed rather.....lacking. While I'm sure those 67 + families will be appreciative, this seems like a drop in a lake.

I say we make them even bigger. If they’re high enough, they’ll just go right over the pedestrian without touching them. Checkmate, libruls!

Nah, that's impractical, because then we'd need to raise all of the bridges.
Instead, let's add plows to the trucks to push the children out of the way.
