I'm not sure. Some years ago a friend and me figured out, during a vacation it would be fun to take a lot of shrooms and just lie on the beach on a day like on the picture. We tripped our brain but we became crustaceans from outside from the sun, it hurt as hell for a week.
So folks be safe, consume hallucinogens in the shadow on days like that.
Me, playing Infinite Wealth (takes place in Hawaii): "I can tell it's a video game because it's noon and I still see shadows. Also that garbage bag has arms and legs and is trying to kick my ass rn."
Unfortunately it only happens at certain latitudes above and below the equator, so it can't really happen just anywhere, just in the few places that are at those latitudes.

This seems like a big miss that every video game developer could skip the shadows and just say "our game takes place at high noon in Hawaii".
