If media corporations worked together to convince you that a half decent politician is evil incarnate but the politician that helps corporations extort the people is good, what would it look like?

Like say Politician A is a somewhat decent politician that's little bettor or worse then the ones before, but Politician B wants to take away the general people's rights so that corporations can get richer and richer. Corporations band together to make Politician A look like the spawn of Satan with every thing they ever did put under a microscope and blown out of proportion if not outright fabricated, while everything Politician B does is completely buried and debunked by bribed people who are claimed to be experts in their respective fields. What would that look like? Like what's an example of a claim and an example of the actual truth behind it?

Is this an opinion with a question mark glued onto it?

You already know the answer.

Have you ever heard about USA elections? Because it just happened there, no need to imagine things.

Tarogar@feddit.org · 5 pts · 1y

I mean... Just look at the news. We don't have to imagine it because that is what is going on.

Any broadcast by a Rupert Murdoch 'news' program.

This is questioning in bad faith, and is asked to push a narrative.

Even if I agree with the narrative, it doesn't belong here.

Newsflash.

It just happened.

A bunch of ignorant, gullible fools were led to believe a literal convicted felon and rapist who has openly stated he is anti-worker rights, leading a party with a long history of voting against average Americans was a better option than a successful prosecutor with a doctorate in law, leading a party with a long history of voting in favor of average Americans.

We don't need to imagine a "what if humans are stupid and easily misled" scenario. That is the reality we exist in.
