If we make contact with a galactic civilization, humans who grew up in developing areas will be much better suited for it than ones used to living in the 1st world

They would be best suited for contacting aliens? Or do you mean talking with them? Traveling back to their world? What would they be better suited for?

I mean 1st world people are used to being in the know, having the best stuff, always being a purchase away from whatever you want, even if it takes time to save up money. As part of a larger galactic civilization, we will all be the newcomers, strangers to the wonders of a more advanced civilization.
