Weird story. Went to St. patricks cathedral with an ex and her aunt (who was a devout catholic). She was bangin' on about how god was everywhere 'like the internet'. 'In walls, in the air'. A few hours earlier she asked me to set up her wifi / chuck in the router password on her phone to use ex's internet at ex's home.. so I asked her if god forgets his password too.
Okay Iโm going to officeworks. What pens do you want?

Good sirs, if you are going to have the balls to charge 25 dollars for a Calabrese salad then, for the love of god, the tomatoes better not be CRUNCHY. And the cheap arse everyday toms from the supermarket. ๐ก It's only three ingredients FFS.
This is what I get for thinking I am going to have a little early treat because I have been disciplined this year so far. Back to home cooked.
New phone probably arriving today. As a kid would've been excited but not these days so got an el' cheapo crappy one (oppo something or rather).
Old iphone refuses to charge I think because of bringing into the ocean so many times and the charging port has corroded lol. Worth it though. Had to be replaced anyway but I'm glad it kicked the bucket doing what it loved.
this is the leading argument in my mind to jump ship every so often. Samsung to iphone? Huge. Samsung to Samsung or iphone to iphone? meh. Running my poor 13 into the ground till theres something worth upgrading, like the 120hz display on the new pros.
30-60 minutes with a new phone, and it looks identical to my old phone.

You don't. Homegrown strawbs have spoiled me for life. As has homegrown asparagus, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and green beans. And quite a lot of other veg that I haven't grown for a while now. But home strawbs a pretty damn special.

Yep. Once the solstice happens, the plants start to go all yellow at the endy bits. Mine are looking pretty sad but the toms still keep coming. Still got a few still to ripen.
Yass! Nothing compares. I would suggest planting in pretty much pure compost in a barrel or similar. Once it starts to yield though be prepared for asparagus for breakfast lunch and dinner for a few weeks. But so so good.

Panettone is a sweetened bread - very like brioche, but it takes much much longer to go stale. Soak a 3 cm thick slice of panettone in milk, or a mix of 1 beaten egg and milk, let it sit for half an hour to absorb the liquid. Then fry in butter until golden brown. Enjoy with jam and icecream on top or even bacon & egg. Or cut a 2 cm thick slice and just have it plain with coffee. Maybe a bit of butter on top if you are feeling fancy. Or just toast slices for breakfast. All this applies to the 'normal' panettone with fruit in it. If you've been given the chocolate sauced sort or the lemon sauced sort - then just cut slices and eat with coffee or a glass of something. I prefer the ordinary sort as more flexible. Intended (and ideal) for providing a quick snackette when unexpected guests come over - just cut up and put on a plate.
Some things should NEVER have chocolate chips inflicted upon them. HCBs and panettone are top of my list here. The lemon sauced ones are so damn sweet as to be inedible imo. Just lop off the top dome horizontally and eat as toast, then pull off the giant paper muffin wrap bit by bit as you eat the remainder.
If you like stale bread you'll be fine but I'll tell ya it's as dry as a teetotaller's weekend holiday. Personally I'd make a trifle out of it but a small carton of custard should do it.
lost my favorite pair of glasses. no worries go to order a replacement, except they don't do them any more. god damn it now I gotta go start the process all over again!
Bit of an itch to scratch with medical dramas so I tried watching Brilliant Minds. Dear lord this is absolute schlock compared to The Pitt. The direction is cliche, the dialogue is revoltingly bad and Zachary Quinto absolutely can't act. Terminated
Maybe I should try watching Scrubs some day... maybe that could be my treat when I finish uni.
I've been thinking about watching it after reading all about how The Pitt is basically the spiritual successor of ER and how that show was the OG premium medical drama...
I absolutely can't get into a long show until I finish uni though because I can totally see myself avoiding my commitments by binge watching for weeks ๐ฅฒ
Late reply, it might be a bit triggering if you have had any traumatic experiences in medical settings including the care of others (this is why I haven't recommended it to my brother). Or cathartic, depending on which phase you're in...
Lots of high praise from drs about the accuracy of most medical details but also the dynamics and characters, environment etc. To the point that it's a bit too real and too similar to work so not enjoyable for some haha.
Oh boy. Some scenes are some of the hardest to watch ever haha I screamed at the TV. They're not very long though so you can look away and not miss much.
Maybe eating discount 7/11 sandwiches two days in a row wasn't the best idea. Either that or something else is definitely setting off the fart machine big time today
I didnโt know that Baci chocolates come with a quote inside. This one I had was this: โLove life more than its logic, for only then will you grasp its meaningโ
Loooong day. Just got home & showered. I drove home and donโt feel like I was concentrating at all. You know when you drive on familiar roads and wonder how on earth you got home? Iโm that level of exhausted.
Arrrgh, adaway via VPN is not blocking in-app ads and I am SEETHING - it's like getting STDs on your phone, these disgusting full screen sound on ads are absolute cancer after decades of blocking ads successfully.
Will need to hope and pray the DNS blocklist method works again later this week
There are shade cloth triangles you can stretch over an area tying at the corners but you need something to tie it to like a fence. If you donโt you can make a temporary box frame of pipes and drape a sheet over.
I have a cat enclosure I could use for the purpose but itโs too small to use with how I spaced the pumpkins out in the ground. And the tomatoes with their stakes are too tall.
If I could have prepared better and had more money I would have had some kind of plan. I donโt really have the time or energy to sort it out beyond pulling the smaller pots in and giving the bigger/in ground plants water -_-

I get the whole pokemon thing now.
I've watched a handful of episodes. Can definitely see how it became so popular.
Season 1 episode 17: The Pokemon are stranded on an island and they all talk to each other lol

Fish.....
Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y
I haven't got food at home I need to eat out. What fish can I get in the CBD at 1030?
Duenan@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 1y
Do they do pho with fish?
Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
No ๐
Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
Where did you procure this pho? Looks the business
Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 1y
Pho thin, corner of hardware lane. It's definitely the business!

I made a bowl of jelly again.
Wonder if I should save it for the warmer weekend coming up.
Also got no idea how to start and finish this penatonne I was given a few weeks ago.

have the panetone for breakfast

put a big slice in a panini press
TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y

The one I have is chocolate chip.
Lemon sauce or something like that sounds fantastic and might go well to offset the sweetness.
TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y
Some things should NEVER have chocolate chips inflicted upon them. HCBs and panettone are top of my list here. The lemon sauced ones are so damn sweet as to be inedible imo. Just lop off the top dome horizontally and eat as toast, then pull off the giant paper muffin wrap bit by bit as you eat the remainder.
Duenan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y
True but I look on the bright side its dark chocolate so thatโs a plus but it was a gift so I had no choice.
I will make do!
Having it slightly warm sounds really nice though.

You got the best one but still drown that thing in custard.
Duenan@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
I will think about it. No rush to dig into it yet.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
Trust me ya gonna need custard or cream.
It's deceiving. It looks like it has a lot of flavour but it doesn't. ๐
Duenan@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
Puffy cream appeals to me!
Itโs not a thing I usually eat so I have none of that stuff.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 1y
Hahaha. Puffy cream.
If you like stale bread you'll be fine but I'll tell ya it's as dry as a teetotaller's weekend holiday. Personally I'd make a trifle out of it but a small carton of custard should do it.
CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
You need to douse the panetone in custard so it's unrecognisable then it's edible.
PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y
Make a tiramisu of it. One of my bosses makes tiramisu out of panettone and it's delectable.
melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y
Sprinkle it with a liqueur and add jelly and custard for a trifle?

Bit of an itch to scratch with medical dramas so I tried watching Brilliant Minds. Dear lord this is absolute schlock compared to The Pitt. The direction is cliche, the dialogue is revoltingly bad and Zachary Quinto absolutely can't act. Terminated
Maybe I should try watching Scrubs some day... maybe that could be my treat when I finish uni.
underwatermagpies@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 1y
ER is on iView and it is pretty brilliant tv, especially the first few seasons.
just_kitten@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
I've been thinking about watching it after reading all about how The Pitt is basically the spiritual successor of ER and how that show was the OG premium medical drama...
I absolutely can't get into a long show until I finish uni though because I can totally see myself avoiding my commitments by binge watching for weeks ๐ฅฒ
Duenan@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 1y
How is The Pitt?
Someone was trying to recommend me to me yesterday at work and told me a little bit about it.
just_kitten@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y
Late reply, it might be a bit triggering if you have had any traumatic experiences in medical settings including the care of others (this is why I haven't recommended it to my brother). Or cathartic, depending on which phase you're in...
Lots of high praise from drs about the accuracy of most medical details but also the dynamics and characters, environment etc. To the point that it's a bit too real and too similar to work so not enjoyable for some haha.
Duenan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y
Is it particularly graphic as well?
just_kitten@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y
Oh boy. Some scenes are some of the hardest to watch ever haha I screamed at the TV. They're not very long though so you can look away and not miss much.
just_kitten@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 1y
Maybe eating discount 7/11 sandwiches two days in a row wasn't the best idea. Either that or something else is definitely setting off the fart machine big time today

Loooong day. Just got home & showered. I drove home and donโt feel like I was concentrating at all. You know when you drive on familiar roads and wonder how on earth you got home? Iโm that level of exhausted.
Iโm having a sleep in tomorrow.

Still feel like Iโm asleep.
Also for the first time in ages, my alarm woke me in the middle of my dream, which from what I can gather was distressing.
Crap way to start the day.

I'm worried so many plants are going to get burnt leaves
maybe I can cover them with an old sheet when the sun is directly on them
melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 1y
Yeah, or maybe some shade cloth?
There are shade cloth triangles you can stretch over an area tying at the corners but you need something to tie it to like a fence. If you donโt you can make a temporary box frame of pipes and drape a sheet over.
I have a cat enclosure I could use for the purpose but itโs too small to use with how I spaced the pumpkins out in the ground. And the tomatoes with their stakes are too tall.
If I could have prepared better and had more money I would have had some kind of plan. I donโt really have the time or energy to sort it out beyond pulling the smaller pots in and giving the bigger/in ground plants water -_-
