But don't you see? They're the victims of woke DEI cancel multicultural Marxism run amok!

Yoink.

Just_Monika@sopuli.xyz · 7 pts · 1y (17 replies)

What's DEI?

Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 15 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion/Inclusivity. Also the new favorite bogeyman of the "anti-woke" fascists

MothmanDelorian@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I believe you mean dogwhistle for racists.

Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 6 pts · 1y

That too, yeah

toomanypancakes@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 1y

An apparently socially acceptable replacement for the n word.

RandomVideos@programming.dev · 9 pts · 1y (2 replies)

If i understood correctly, not being racist

hOrni@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y (1 reply)

You didn't. It's not being racist, sexist, homophobic, ableist, xenophobic or an asshole.

Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y

There was a quota for hiring assholes? That explains a lot.

supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 1y (5 replies)

FYI is stupid but it isn't DEI it is DEIA, hateful conservatives didn't want to attack minorities AND disabled people at the same time because they are pathetic cowards, so they drop the A when they bash DEI.

I am sure they all decided this in their big Asshole Bullies meeting, it is blatantly obvious.

It also confuses people because it is another (incorrectly spelled) acronomyn and that is always helpful when you are robbing the shit out of people.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diversity,_equity,_and_inclusion

keegomatic@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y (4 replies)

That may be true, but at actual companies the term DEI is almost always used, not DEIA, for internal initiatives.

supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Well now that we are on the topic, let us consider why large corporations and organizations do that?

keegomatic@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y (2 replies)

The people who run these initiatives tend to be people who care, actually, in my experience. It’s DEI because DEI is the standard industry-wide term. Have you worked at a company that uses the DEIA initialism instead?

supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I am not questioning the motives of any one particular person, I am asking why the system is the way it is.

Where did the A go?

keegomatic@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y

The motives matter because I am telling you that they would call it DEIA if it were considered better practice to do so, because the people in the company who take on these initiatives are the people who care enough to do it, and they try to get it right. Do you know people involved in such initiatives? Because I do. And they called it DEI when we used to talk about it. And they changed quite a bit about the initiative based on feedback from members of marginalized groups in the company, so they would have changed the way they referred to it (DEI => DEIA) as well. This is a common experience. The fact that it is called DEI by politicians is simply not a purposeful slight in this instance.

It used to be called affirmative action, and it's existed for at least 30 years. Then the liberals renamed it to dei a few years ago and it suddenly became the biggest threat to american democracy

Others already gave you the correct answer, but even so, knowing full well what it is supposed to mean and in complete ignorance of how little sense that makes - my brain always wants to read it as "Does Enyone Ilse"

Trump - their poster child of good Christian leadership. A man that sticks innocent children in cages for trying to survive.

How dare they. If they wanted a fair chance to survive, they should have been born white and Christian

"You cannot serve two masters," said Jesus. Evangelicals, in trying to have power for Christ, will inevitably choose power and ditch Christ.

When is the general strike and protest?

leadore@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

Very good, though it might be even better if they put the Antichrist on the left. There's a lot in the bible that would actually fit well with the idea that Trump is that.

There should also be one like this with Hitler, but the figure on the right is the US Constitution and the caption would be magats.

That sums it up. When will the neo-Nazis force all branches to march with the goose step.

Last time I checked American evangelists hated a woman who did the most Christian thing a Christian can do, which is also backed by the bible. Telling her she'll go to hell. Then not to forget the fake "sin of empathy" by another American evangelist. The last time we had a religion that "fake", was during 1930's Germany. So yeah no, when I as an atheist can quote more bible verses that proof them wrong then they can quote, to back themselves and their hate up, you should know something is not a "I don't like them so they are Hitler" but instead "These are fucking uneducated people on their way to make a cheap knock off version of nazi germany".

ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

Sure, the right might call boring liberals "radical communists", but if the left dares to call people who want to remove certain groups from society nazis...

Or is it more of a No True Nazi situation for you?

I'm glad you're semi-aware of how hard you're being played.

supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 1y

They have it is just leftist politics, even very basic leftist populist politics, actually has substance and love to it, it actually focuses on realworld issues and solving problems for all not just the rich.

This makes it a lot harder for people on the left to get played by a bunch of rich bastards because we don't tend to jump at excuses to hurt and oppress people like conservatives are always doing for the rich (under some scheme that only ends up benefitting the rich).

Exceptions abound, and leftism certainly has issues and valid critiques but damn... compared to the dangerous dumpsterfire that is modern rightwing politics I got no complaints...
