I think most of the heat will escape through that large side opening.

It looks like -22F/-30C. The space between "as" and "22" is too large to be a single space.

Gotta keep the humidity (from your breathing) low inside so you don't freeze.

Here's the article link. Turns out there's a separate larger tent area for where your head it at, so it's not outside.

Gotta be able to breath

There's also a URL in the picture, which says -22 if you visit it

Bivvy sacs are just that style of shelter, you can put different sleeping pads and bags in them to get setups that will be comfortable at different temp ranges.

nuke@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 1y

Can it fit an air vent and fan?

nuke@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 1y

Negative 22*

Is this loss Saddam?

ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de · 9 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Article link. Pretty sweet for cold weather camping. I didn't track down the product listing but stuff like this is usually damned expensive.

*edit: I got curious. Looks like $2,000 or so.

recklessengagement@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

You can get sub-zero sleeping bags for a few bundred. Even bags that go way colder than this.

ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de · 2 pts · 1y

Yep. But the cold as this will cost you north of $500.

verity_kindle@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 1y

Nah, it's too much, too complicated. What's the point of camping without a ragged milsurp mummy bag and a Ralph Wiggum vibe?

coffeetastesbadlikecoffee@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 1y

If you go camping in this thing you'll start conspiracy theories that Saddam has been hiding ABOVE GROUND THIS WHOLE TIME!!! ļ¼¼(悜o悜;)/

WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 1y (3 replies)

How exactly do you get insude?

hydroxycotton@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 1y (2 replies)

It's basically a tiny tent that his a zipper down the middle. Seems kind of gimmicky but I'm not really a camping person so idk how practical this would be.

Sorry but I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Clearly you're supposed to climb in through the giant hole in the side.

ptolemy@infosec.pub · 2 pts · 1y

This is my hole.

verity_kindle@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I just noticed...Nuke made this for my retirement roast a while back and there's an Easter Egg.

nuke@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I hope you understand your retirement party was part of a covert mission to lure Saddam out of hiding.

Ooohh ASScYUSSME, I thought it was about a gold MLRS and my lifetime of SERVICE to MEMES
