New couch is being delivered finally

I’m just letting the delivery people do the assembly this time, they’re the pros

Sigh it’s off center. I didn’t manage them well this time.

Guess I’ll be taking it apart and reassembling it after all, as soon as the wife sees the issue…

You don't think about 100 of those little furniture sliders would do it? Lol

nick@midwest.social · 7 pts · 1y

We had to move the rug as well, and it had a pad underneath to prevent sliding.

It wasn’t really hard to do the rearranging once I figured out the clip system

You have a beautiful house

Are you certain that you have enough candles in the house?

nick@midwest.social · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

😂 I’ll ask my wife she’s the candle boss

varyingExpertise@feddit.org · 3 pts · 1y

Smart move delegating that department. Coming from the guy that once mentioned that I liked one certain candle in the presence of some family from my girlfriends side, and now we have switched to those transparent IKEA containers for storing all the birthday and Christmas gift candles.

At least, all of that is going to make a spectacular bonfire one day.

You ain’t wrong. Drives me nuts

Albbi@lemmy.ca · 10 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I have a pull down TV mount for my TV that is above the fireplace. Works really well and it swivels too.

nick@midwest.social · 8 pts · 1y

I’m getting flak from friends about the tv now, so I may look into that arm that lowers it. Seems smart

Thanks! Hell of a lot of oak, hoping oak comes back into style someday 😂

Is that the one from Costco? I sat in something very similar there last week.

nick@midwest.social · 5 pts · 1y

Arhaus! It’s hydrophobic but still soft

daryashkoh@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 1y

I like how you turned that confessional booth into a media center. Bold interior design.

wise_pancake@lemmy.ca · 6 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Do you ever throw those parachute army guys off the balcony?

Growing up our house had a similar balcony and my brothers and I would spend all day making parachutes and throwing them or airplanes off of it.

nick@midwest.social · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Oh man that’s be great. i have girls though so they don’t care for cool toys like that. They have no idea what they’re missing out on

anomnom@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1y

Parachutes fit on dolls too, after all GI Joes are just dolls for boys.

Your living room is sweet

SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y

That rug really ties the room together.

Albbi@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Love your void on top of the cabinet. Does it jump up to the 2nd floor from there?

nick@midwest.social · 6 pts · 1y

She does yeah. She gargoyles like that whenever any strangers are here

Biskii@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Did your cat jump from the balcony? How did it get up there?

nick@midwest.social · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Down from the balcony, then to get back she jumps up to it. Through the railing supports, which always makes me nervous

Biskii@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 3 pts · 1y

That is terrifying. Cats are so wild

TisI@reddthat.com · 4 pts · 1y

Your house would work great as a horror movie location.

Ingiald@feddit.nl · 4 pts · 1y

Also works better with the sockets in the floor when centred

neidu3@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

What's that thing in the floor? Looks like a brass mounting point for something..

Albbi@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

In floor electrical socket I think.

nick@midwest.social · 4 pts · 1y

Yep!
