I have an old buddy who’s a pretty accomplished tattoo artist, and as goes is also a pretty good artist in many other ways- pen/ink, paint, etc. We have a few of his hand drawn or painted pieces hanging on our walls.
I saw sometime last year that he was proudly telling everyone about his AI art shop on Etsy…selling art he was just having AI generated and printed via whatever those shops that just print whatever you want on whatever you want and drop shipped to you. …so sad…
Yup, I recognized this space immediately- Frankfurt Airport…been this way for a few years now. Oddly empty and quiet every time I’m there despite how busy and chaotic the main areas are. The bathrooms there are nice…also empty and quiet!
Yup…id love to have an old 86/87 Honda Goldwing Aspencade Special (or limited?) Edition…it’s fuel injected, but they only made that bike for 2 years before completely redesigning the whole bike and engine to the crazy Space Ship look for the 90s. Parts are literally impossible to get for the fuel system, worse because it’s electrical stuff (sensors, etc). Anyone with this bike has multiple just for parts…i dont have room for multiple goldwings, lol.
Not to scare you here, but just being real. There’s so many new people in the hobby these days with printer prices getting so low, and so many get easily frustrated so easily and just blame the machine without learning the hobby….
This hobby takes a LOT of patience. Things are going to go wrong, prints are going to fail. You will have to try over and over again with different methods and tweaks. (Not 100% of the time, ofc, but it’ll happen!) While specific printers will have their quirks, most print issues are not printer specific, so any guide to “fixing your prints” will be a good starting point. The most common reply you’ll see to an issue is “user error”- which usually is the case involving any of your settings, filament quality/condition, and/or the condition of your print bed. Keep the bed clean! Dish soap and water is the best thing. A lot of people praise Iso. Alcohol, but that doesn’t always work, and in some cases actually ruins bed surfaces.
Calibrate your filaments and keep them dry. There is no “best settings for X”- they will be a good starting point, some might actually work for you without tweaks, but there is literally thousands of combinations of print material, printers and print environments…so, what works amazing for you might just be a pile of spaghetti for me!
Learn the slicer software- they are super powerful now. All the settings can be overwhelming, but you’ll get there in time! Printer mfgs love to brag about print speeds, but fast almost never equals clean. In most cases just slowing down your print speeds can significantly clean things up, or even prevent failure.
If you are pulling .3mf files from any of the sites, be aware that they will have the creator’s full print settings in the file when you load it in the slicer, a lot of which probably wont work for you or might even throw errors in your slicer (bambu labs files are bad about this in non-bambu slicers)- so you’ll need to go through and check everything that changed. Some might be on purpose because of the design (top/bottom layer patterns, fuzzy skin, painted supports, etc)
This hobby is super rewarding and it’s really fun to watch things come to life, but you gotta have the patience to work and grow with a very complex machine!
Noice. I recognized that engine from the thumbnail while scrolling! I’ve had 3 XJs and always wanted to do a stroker build! My last one (a ‘99 Limited) got swapped for an XK with a Hemi so that saited the urge for a while….i havent had a Jeep for quite a few years now ‘cause that XK and me had a really bad breakup over too many crappy Chrysler electrical issues…..and covid really spiked the price of older Jeeps. They seem to be coming back down down, but too many projects, not enough time or space…
I was never able to figure out what “made” the triangle! I just knew that Bermuda was part of it. Internet didn’t exist back then, so you just kinda moved on when you couldnt find your answer; or pick 2 other places that look good enough and call it a day! Today, seeing this post, finally solved a question from my childhood! 😆
To add to some of the other replies (road repair, etc) the one we used to live in also offered access to a full pool area with life guards. This included a lap pool (with certain adult only times), toddler shallow pool, a medium (standing/walking) depth that had some fountains in it and a splash pad. A decent sized play ground. There was also a larger event space with a kitchen that you could rent (price was free, just had to schedule a slot and sign a damages waver). The fee also included “beautification” things like all the flower beds and landscaping/grass maintenance in all the public areas, which included a 2 mile loop running/walking path with the various body-weight workout stops. Tennis courts, community events with food/games/etc. It’s about $880 a year now i think, and the only rules were really just keep your place looking decent. We didnt have any issues because i always mowed the lawn and trimmed the bushes anyways…there’s also guidelines for not painting your house crazy colors or building really weird structures, but it was pretty easy for your average lifestyle all things considered.
I guess really like an apartment complex, but you have your own house you can do whatever you want to with- for better or worse.
Im no advocate for HOAs, not even this one. I will never live in one again…but not all HOAs are equal is my only point. Some are $1000 year with literally nothing to “give back”. Eff all that.
The solids stay in the tank. The article elaborated a bit more and said that this system wasnt designed to fully eliminate traditional dumping (despite being advertised as such), just allow for less frequent dumping. There was a level sensor in the tank to prevent it from fully draining so the solids wouldnt dry out.
Cant do that on devices that arent running browsers, or browsers capable of extensions/add-ons. Like games consoles…my xbox would be the only device on my network relying on a VPN for this and other things that my pi-hole cant block.
Huh, neat. Ive never seen that disc before. FWIW, i had 3 different 360s, but I dont remember which ones i would have used Og xbox games on. Likely my first one- it was the original larger style that was prone to RROD, but was purchased a few years after the 360 had been released. My other two were the later slim version. I dont have specific model numbers…the only 360 i still have has been in storage for a few years now in a different country, so i couldnt even go mess with right now if i wanted to 😅

I thought your ‘f’s were ‘t’s until i saw your ‘t’s. The tops of ‘d’ and ‘b’ could be longer to look less like ‘o’. Otherwise, very sharp!
