One of the reasons I got rid of my mustang was because I felt so guilty any time I needed to use it outside of regular hours. It was fun to drive, but it was so obnoxiously loud.
Took the paddleboards for their first spin this morning and oh my god it's love. We both fell many, many times are now rather exhausted, but the weather was so peaceful for it, the water was gorgeous and just had the most fun we could. Lots of laughter. Can't wait for more. Definitely need to work on our core strength though, wowzers.
I need to write an email to the boss about workload and am struggling to find the right words. Donโt want to be whiny but need to make my case clear and be tactful. Of course, when awake and overthinking at 3am I composed the perfect email in my head and have now forgotten it. Hrmph
Usually Colesworth or Aldi generic liquid soap in Aloe or whatever. It got a bit harsh with frequent use though so currently trying a lemongrass Australian Botanicals bar soap. Still drying but not causing flaky skin.
Or I just use up bar soaps I didnโt like on my hands.
Avoid the bamboo soap dishes though, they go mouldy
I'm going to the street party early (before the party, really) because the Minipeelers love the feeling of walking down the middle of Sydney road unimpeded!
It definitely is. I hit the part of my morning routine where I was ready to start our morning walk and it was still pitch black. I've ended up haveing to bring forward coffee instead.
When they changed the houses galvanised pipe over to copper someone thought keeping the galvanised riser for the front garden tap was a grand idea. Galvanic corrosion
Stunning morning. Cafe breakfast outside with three games of chess (one win each and a draw), then an hour long walk home in the blissful sunshine with my friend, talking about how shit my old job was (she's still there)
Iโm trying to wean myself onto books so I donโt rely so much on my phone but itโs hard. It seems I still read fast too. Going to have to sort something out about getting to the library. Doing things digitally is just looking too much for me right now. I forgot my library card password or pin, I cbf working out Libby and donโt want to buy a kindle.
Coles is currently 40% off on some shampoos and CW is 50% off on a lot of hair stuff.
Iโm a bit suspicious though because the last time I bought something heavily discounted it turned out that sunscreen brand was being pulled for not living up to SPF claims.
I'm in the process of re-jigging my income/disability insurance converage and it has turned out to be a looong process. 2/3 of the way there, just one more policy to finalise and then I should be set up and not have to make any aplications ever again. It will just be a slow (planned) reduction in cover over the next couple of decades as retirement gets closer.
It would be great to have a crystal ball and know what the future will hold. It's a massive amount of money to spend to (hopefully) receive nothing back. But if something does go wrong I won't have to stress about finances or suffer a major drop in living standards.
Some people are very out of touch with reality. Quite a few also don't seem to understand that they are dealing with individual people and that it works differently than buying from a store. It makes for some very odd interactions.
But annoying customers often do get discounts for stupid reasons. Shops deal with a lot of volume and losing a bit of markup to get rid of a PITA can make sense, and they are often run by management with a "customer is always right" attitude. But for an individual the dynamic is very different, being a pain to deal with is more likely to get you blocked.
I put a couple more things up and I've got some chump offering 60% but they'll come tomorrow with cash. Sure buddy, sure. I don't negotiate either, I just say no.
I'm selling off a bunch of stuff I just want to be rid of, but a low ball on the first day of advertising isn't what I'm looking for. It's been sitting around for a while, I'm happy to have it sit round a bit longer for another hungy.
Someone nearby is having a party with loudish doof music. Itโs 11pm on a Saturday. What are they thinking, to have fun or something? What about all us grumpy old people who are in bed already.
Oh no, I am sunburnt!! I put on plenty of sunscreen before we went out, gave it plenty of time to soak in, but we were out on the water for about 2 hours.
