None ;)

I used to use Reddit. I now use Lemmy. That's it.

To be clear, I do own accounts on many other platforms, including Mastodon, as a way to keep those handles under my hand. I simply don't use them and see little reason to start using them.

Same.

Although I like to recommend RSS. 'Social " media is overrated. If people are looking for content them just subscribe directly to the source.

RSS is really great, always has been. And many sites support RSS, not just for a main feed but also sub topic feeds.

I use NetNewsWire on iOS

Mastodon is my preference 😊 I really like my timeline

Fedditor385@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Mastodon, as I can filter any content with specific words, and tbh it's the best thing ever.

decended_being@midwest.social · 1 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I'm following some hashtags and find that many posts with them are in languages I don't know. Is there a way to keep posts to the languages I do know?

Fedditor385@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yes, Settings > Preferences > Other and there under Public Timelines you can filter which languages you wish to see.

A belated but appreciation filled thank you!

I suppose the fediverse in general.

Not counting Lemmy

The only other one I even use is Tumblr. And only when Lemmy is extra slow and boring. It's harder to actually just talk to people on Tumblr, the way "replies" work there. I use SM more for the social part. The memes and content are just bonuses.

Mastodon with tag subscription is pretty awesome. On the advance web client you can even do multiple rows with different hashtag subscriptions so it's like a self aggregating Lemmy

StClinton@lemmings.world · 3 pts · 1y

BlueSky and Spoutible. I'm new to Lemmy, really enjoying it so far.

AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 1y

Well, the only other ones I really actually use besides Lemmy are Mastodon and my InsaneJournal account. Been totally slacking on that, though, so gonna give it to Mastodon.

I don't include things like Wattpad or yt because I spend most of my time not actually communicating with others on either platform.

Lemmy. Mastadon. YouTube.

FartsWithAnAccent@fedia.io · 1 pts · 1y

mbin (that is counting Lemmy btw)

tal@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 1y

Assuming "Lemmy" is including all Threadiverse software, Lemmy/mbin/piefed, then probably Reddit, which is the closest analog.

Excluding porn, YouTube is around 90% of my internet use. However, I must give credit to Twitter for the most accurate recommendation algorithm that almost exclusively only serves me content I'm interested in seeing and has been doing so consistently for a decade.

Skunk@jlai.lu · 11 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Oh boy, he’s going to learn where he is in 3, 2, 1…

Opinionhaver@feddit.uk · -3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I've been here for over two years already.

drmoose@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

And you still didn't heal 🫂

GroupNebula563@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Good recommendation algorithms don't change the fact that the platform is owned by someone who is actively staging a coup

Opinionhaver@feddit.uk · -1 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I don't agree with the politics of the creators of Lemmy either, yet here I am.

GroupNebula563@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 1y

Fair, though that is a somewhat different scenario. I can completely disengage with .ml and still participate in other instances, and the developers don't get any support from that.

kobra@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 1y

You do you, but I want to clarify that’s not really the same. You are not providing the lemmy creators any profit by using their platform like you are with twitter though.
