I left my computer at my friend's house and my laptop at my cousin's. Haven't touched that shit in days and life is good again

I tired. I tried. I really did. I burned my laptop, my phone, and even my printer but the noise won't stop. It just finds other ways to get in. I woke up last night and my hand was beeping. Beeping like a filthy machine. It's too late for me. I can hear the wifi and I'm posting this with my mind.

"i can hear the wifi, i'm posting memes with my mind FOOL" could totally be a dracula flow bar

All apps hand written in assembly. No multitasking.

Fuck that slow ass C++.

Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 13 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I did some assembly programming when I was learning computer science

Anyone who does that is a masochist

Joke's on you, I can hand-code a task switcher with an interrupt.

Y'all using toggle switch panels to directly program your memory?

I don't think so, accessibility is a high priority for me.

True, honestly I wish it was exactly like a computer. Android sucks

Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de · 3 pts · 1y (3 replies)

lineageos with microg and magisk, on a pixel phone

Best phone experience available.

AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

But actually, as user experience goes, it still sucks just like android does, with its shitty filesystem, its apps that are closed upon themselves, its lack of communication at the system level (except through the hacky "share with" menu), etc. I'd rather have the actual Linux user space.

Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

sure, and i'd prefer to have titanium bones. unfortunately that's not possible yet so i take what i can get.

I wish I was dead, that’s why I use NixOS

smiletolerantly@awful.systems · 13 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Cries in 14k lines of nix config

camr_on@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I shuddered in real life

smiletolerantly@awful.systems · 4 pts · 1y

It's actually fine though, kinda. A significant portion of that is my n(ix)vim config, and the rest are mostly modules used in 30+ desktops and server VMs. The complete config for any one of those hosts isn't that extravagant.

Ahaha me too on one of my Thinkpads. Haven't touched in a like a year tho

Where do the BSDs fall in this? Lol.

jaybone@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Technically Mac is a BSD. What about Solaris?

Solaris is something else, something unholy…
