Bernie has been fighting for us since he was dragged away protesting in what I think was the veitnam war. He hasn't flip flopped like most of our other leaders or like some pretending to be a rebel wearing sweats.

I'd imagine the entire left would be excited to have some left-wing representation. The centrist and right-wing Democrats only need us to make their party relevant.

I've seen this a lot lately. Apparently it's the new party lie to try and detract from Bernie because he's objectively popular. They just drop this and never elaborate.
