I do this often. I make product roadmaps, define my epics, etc. but a lot of times, in my work as a SWE consultant, the requirements are a moving target.

I'm now going back to manually coding most things. Using AI to debug or make changes. Which is especially helpful when there's changes to be made across a large codebase.
You could silently sabotage the system. Approve code with obvious defects, bad code smell, and vulnerabilities. Let the product go to production, crash, and let the company spend a bunch of money refactoring the horseshit vibecoded stack they doubled down on.

It will take as long as it fucking takes, and you shouldn't be reporting anything until it's done. Measure progress by fully working, end-to-end features, not by a number of hours someone pulled out of their asses.
Im an AI engineer and even I hate AI. When I say AI, I mean LLMs specifically. It definitely has its use cases. LLMs are pretty good at parsing unstructured data, and generating boilerplate code, but that's about it. Every other use case is a combination of buzzword bingo and slop generation.
AI, uses a tremendous amount of energy, produces an ungodly amount of heat and noise, and pollutes potable drinking water. The overreliance on LLMs for everything is lazy at best and sloppy at worst. LLMs are being applied in scenarios where I could have built a deep learning model that would fit comfortably on a laptop from 2018, and doing a worse job at predictions at that.
Ignoring the fact that they were trained on a ton of copyrighted data, which was labeled for dollars a day by humans in poorer countries, and regularly gets basic information wrong. Yeah, it fucking sucks. And the only people who stand to benefit from it are about a half dozen tech companies who are taking contracts with the US government to track citizens both online and IRL.

The Thinkpad is rugged because employees don't take care of laptops that they didn't pay for. Businesses aren't going to pay someone at $50-80/hr to upgrade the RAM in 3000 laptops. They're just going to send them to ewaste or auction and buy all new ones from their stupid Dell Vender.
