I know this is not the most popular opinion here, but I genuinely believe this is awesome. The world of the future will at least have AI components, and Demis Hassabis and DeepMind have a record of actually trying to help humanity. Just think of AlphaFold!
So, I get why you guys are sceptical. Hell, I'm currently in the process of removing Google apps from my life. But a new AI campus? Sounds amazing.
The oppression in Tibet is known in the west mainly due to the work of the currently Dalai Lama. Arguing "but there's oppression elsewhere too!" is not really an argument that can stand in its own, can it? All oppression is bad, no matter where it's happening.
Thanks for the recommendation, will take a look at it. What I've read of Chomsky so far is often a critique of (mostly, but not exclusively) US Imperialism, so I'm curious what this person is arguing
That only works for internal resistance I believe? Like, Ukrainians can't defend against the Kremlin with a sitting strike
However, we definitely need more sitting strikes nowadays. We've grown complacent in exchange for small pleasantries
The manga is really good though

There are two movies (that I know of) about him and bis battle with dementia:
Back in Black Choosing to die
They are.. heavy, but also deeply moving. Especially the second one.
Zionism is to argue "the people of the jewish faith and the state of Israel are the same thing", which he very much wasn't a fan of.
And the state of Israel has a right to exist, it just shouldn't get special treatment and a different rulebook than anyone else.

Where did you pick up that Chomsky would be a Zionist? He's actively working against the Apartheid Regime in multiple of his books
Salad
Why is shoeonhead a bad person?
