Lol, I'd call the cops that someone is parked in my driveway and pointing what looks like a gun at passing cars. Let them figure it out. I'm sure I'd be harrassed and targeted afterwards though.
And they probably back out quickly and respect the driverway boarder. And they know they are being watched, as is right and proper.
Hell Im not a dad or a homeowner, but we rent first floor and have a small driveway parking spot. You bet Im watching as soon as I hear anyone pull up.
I sleep in the couch next to the window. When I see anything moving, any light, I'm getting up and looking through the little window on top of the door. Nevermind the full side window, I want to be stealthy.... Lol.
Reminds me when a black friend in Texas explained he can't do that because of a real threat of violence, when it's always just been something I've done without considering. Was an eye opener for me years ago.
Honestly, not just a black thing (but more likely probs). My mom told me about a news story where two teenage white girls got shot at and were killed by a dude because they pulled into his driveway and were lost or some shit.
I don't even find it particularly threatening if they're pounding on the door because I'm liable to ignore them. When they open it and enter the threshold though, that's a problem. That will rouse my 6'6" 330 pound ass into hostility. Thankfully that's only happened twice.
Reminds me of when I was doing driving practice with my mum before I got my license, turned off the main road onto what I thought was just a small residential street and quickly realised it was a shared driveway type thing for maybe 4 houses. Anyway this guy is watching the whole time from his garage workshop thing and halfway through me turning to leave he knocks on the window and basically says I can't go in there and I should turn around in the space between the road and the outer edge of the pavement. I didn't think I had enough room to do that safely and he cast doubts on my fitness to drive. I would have already left by then. Anyway I passed like a month later. I wasn't on his part of that drive and had no plans of ever going there again. If he didn't want people occasionally turning onto that spot he shouldn't have chosen a house by the main road. Actual clown, I'm still annoyed.

I let the weeds and grasses grow between the concrete slabs. It's like dad repellent.

Wtf that's wild. I couldn't imagine a cop setting up a speed trap in my driveway.

if you get people using your driveway a lot you should put up a bucket and a sign telling them there's a $2 fee

this is rat slander, rats are wonderful social creatures who would run out and try to get the driver to wrassle with them so they can become friends

This is what I do, but they drive away even quicker no matter how fast I run to them.

People need to move their boarder in. Not threatening until pounding on door.

I wouldn't mind it if they knew how to roll and turn their wheels at the same time so to not trash the driveway
