So, wait... cold beans in the tank, then game session for awhile, then take a break and have a properly cooked snack?

On the Internet, where no one can hear you fart...

fmstrat@lemmy.nowsci.com · 2 pts · 1y

You sure about that?

bandwidthcrisis@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I've seen videos of how to fry an egg on a CPU. Meeting you can do bacon on a GPU?

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

That must have been either a very small egg or a very large CPU.

fmstrat@lemmy.nowsci.com · 3 pts · 1y

Epyc Egg

Probably able to carry away more heat than water. I want to say the Soviets tried this with a submarine but the Royal navy kept stealing the sub for breakfast.

Capsaicin1337@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Is there something wrong with me? I think about how this can be done safely for the PC... Inf my thoughts go directly to 3 d printed beans and red brown coloured water cooling liquid....

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 1y

Sounds like you might have a mild-to-severe case of autism, but don't worry, that's at least half of Lemmy if not more.

henfredemars@infosec.pub · 9 pts · 1y (6 replies)

Perfect for Lemmy. Plus 2 to dank checks.

Aside from the fact that the best drivers are closed source, NVIDIA is killing it on Linux these days.

If distros would ship pre-compiled, signed kernel modules that work with secure boot with no extra configuration, that would be just perfect.

grue@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

No, that should absolutely be discouraged. Nvidia should quit trying to fuck with users' rights and release proper Free Software drivers.

henfredemars@infosec.pub · 1 pts · 1y

It sounds to me like a loose-loose situation. It does have the effect of applying pressure on Nvidia, but it also makes Linux desktop more complicated than it needs to be which has a real cost for users.

It’s a shame.

Did you know that in Factorio's 'seablock' modpack, it is absolutely viable to power your base with BEANS?

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I may not have felt the touch of a woman in YEARS but even I am not autistic enough to play this game.

glitchdx@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

vanilla factorio is for autists, yes. But this is modded factorio, which is infinitely worse.

terminhell@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y

Id give it a solid 8/bean.

casnix@lemmy.ml · 6 pts · 1y

Full beans. IYKYK.

ininewcrow@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Maple or tomatoe sauce?

One might offer better cooling than the other

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Tomato. I figured the higher water content and lower sugar would prevent it from caramelizing and clogging up the pipes.

ininewcrow@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 1y

I can understand that .... but you're sacrificing flavor for utility

mavu@discuss.tchncs.de · 5 pts · 1y

klemptor@startrek.website · 3 pts · 1y (3 replies)

I see beans but no jeans. Come on lemmy, do the thing.

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I don't think jeans offer the necessary cooling properties for this particular application.

Make a framework case and stretch dennim over it. Attach fans to distressed sections.
