I was initially 80/20 against/for Wikipedia's stance. I tentatively agreed with Wales' criticism of identity tracking for the initial vote, but needed more information to form a solid opinion. Then I saw the mention of their hiring a union busting firm in addition to their current relationship with a known union busting law firm.
Fuck them, 100%. I immediately cancelled my ongoing monthly donation, which I've provided for years. Until the Wikimedia Foundation recognizes their unionized employees and works with them in good faith, they will get not a penny from me
It sounds good and some people share such things without critical thought. It's like adding sugar to petrol - it doesn't actually do anything beyond possibly clogging the fuel filter, but the promise of such easy means of destruction appeals to some.
I've found there's at least one person in most comments that will claim anything is written by AI. Too well written? AI. Poorly written? Bad AI. More commas or dashes than they'd personally use? Definitely AI.
What I suspect you're saying is that if those in a disadvantageous position, likely having limited financial, social, and political capital, can acquire a fictitious, functional identity, then someone with the means to afford multiple yachts absolutely can do so.
Also want to add something I saw in the US: light olive oil. It advertised itself as olive oil with a lighter flavor. It was olive oil diluted with vegetable oil, yet sold at a premium.
Do you have a source where I could read more about this? I tried looking all of this up and the only articles I found contradict the original comment about taking loans to repay tariffs and that putting tariff revenue into a sovereign wealth fund was proposed but never happened.
The Konami Code?

They also cut faster, though are loud as hell.

It's intentional. Profit from his rise, have a bit of a lull, then profit from his fall. US citizens just get fucked all along.
At first I agreed, then realized I would make a quite ugly woman.

Truth. My favorite Japanese restaurant in the States had a primarily South American immigrant staffed kitchen.
I have IBS and have always wondered how someone like me in India would even survive.
Soon to include the 'wrong' white people too!
I think people misunderstand your comment.

Edit: further reading shows neither is factual.
Forgive me for not understanding as I'm not from the US, but what happened to the funds from the collected tariffs?
Truth. I can't recall a single US president that wasn't at least implicated of war crimes. Not one of them was held accountable in the slightest.
The US - where anything more than the gentlest of softball questions is hard hitting journalism.
Is a mental handicap not eligible in the US?
It's a thorn, the confusion of which with a Y is the origin of 'Ye Olde Pub'.
