I don't think there's any edit. All the quotes feature the "obvious plant" logo.. So it's probably just part of the prank

Okay, this goes a step further. Someone snapped a photo of the original joke on their computer, which explains the scanlines, and then put a white box around the image. What an odd thing to do.

The whole thing is fake. Search for “obvious plant.” They make funny fake products and ads and flyers and polls, etc
