I'll go with Dread power suit. I think its slickness and the combination of colors is unmatched. About MP4, I think that we won't have the classic Power-Varia-Gravity upgrades but something that maybe enhances her psychic power?

The last suit you get in Dread definitely wasn’t my favorite, but boy was it distinctive. Somehow even more organic looking than the Fusion suit which I guess is fitting since it’s a direct sequel.

Phazon Suit from Prime, although the 100% corruption PED suit from Prime 3 is a close second. No idea what's going to happen with Prime 4, though. Probably no Phazon related suits?

Prime 4 from the trailers appears to give samus psychic powers and stars the Galactic Federation's angry science project (who may be using a phazon based suit himself?) I'm hoping for a cool purple suit in prime 4

I believe they already stated that the Phazon storyline ended with Prime 3, so I'm pretty sure we won't have phazon suits

I loved the Dread power suit, and the gravity suit in particular. The purple with the green lighting down her torso looked really cool, kinda Evangelion vibes. Phazon suit from Metroid Prime was also badass.
I'm not sure what they'll do for MP4, but I feel like there HAS to be some series of visual upgrades. It's an integral part of the series at this point!

Seconded. I still put the Varia suit first in my comment though, because I like its OG look and it's the most consistent over the series

Wow I never made the connection with Evangelion! Now that I think about it the Varia suit is very similar to Asuka's EVA!
OmegaMouse@pawb.social · 2 pts · 1y
Ohh you're right! I feel like Evangelion has influenced a lot of Japanese media

In this case maybe it's the other way around since Super Metroid predates NGE 1 year! Also there were concept arts circulating since the first Metroid in 1986. Who knows..

I suppose it's a combination of things! Assumedly both were inspired by earlier mech anime and 80s sci-fi design

You know, I kinda think fusion suits were a step in the right direction. They make it more obvious they're partly organic, and they're sleeker. Though maybe they could look a little less like rubber.
I do like dread designs too, even if they're more on the classic side.
::: spoiler Spoiler : Dread ending Of course the metroid suit is the most organic yet, but that's a bit too much. :::

The power suit needs more teeth

Metroid 6 : the "suit" is back, and now Samus doesn't have a beam anymore, she just grabs enemies and bites them all to death.
Then she can have a friendly contest with Kirby for most overpowered, scariest cosmic horror.

I think the Design of the dread suit is amazing, especially at the end of the game when she gets the watermelon variant.
I also really like the original gravity suit from Super Metroid, but they're all awesome.

Aren't the prime games set in-between the main games?
peer2pirate@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 1y
Yes, between Metroid and Metroid 2. But this doesn't have that much impact on story/mechanics themselves
