RESOLVED: Seems language undeterimed was causing the issue. Hitting back in the browser (in old.lemmy on chrome) retains the post contents. All I had to do was select English and resubmit.

Yea I just spent like an hour typing out a submission and when I hit submit it just dissapeared.
I honestly am so disappointed.
Can someone help me figure out what happened? Was it because I didn't select a language??

then it's probably not viewer preference related (like gaving different language settings in the client than the post)

Do you have relatively precise time you tried to submit the post? I'll see if I can find something in the server logs.
