Snail scale

Interesting that all but #8 have faces with eyes on the body and not where the eyes should be.

Though #8 is also facing away, so who knows what kind of face the artist would have given that one.

They look like the missing link between snails and mammals

1. The expression on its face is priceless. You can practically see it say "Oh man, not this shit again".

Why do they draw snail eyes where there are no eyes? Were medieval people blind, or did they draw something they had never seen?

Have any of the artists ever seen a snail, though?
