Chat, is this real?

ryannathans@aussie.zone · 18 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I couldn't find anything on it when I looked it up, sounds like fake news

It's clearly a screenshot from Instagram

Cowbee@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 1y

The part about the DPRK only recognizing Palestine and not Israel has been true for decades, the death penalty bit is up in the air though. Haven't found any confirmation on that, just a news article citing KCNA without linking a source.

Fuck it, whatever, fine, North Korea is right.

I hate this timeline

Search gives this unknown site saying it is true. https://gofrixty.com/north-korea-imposes-death-penalty-for-promoting-zionism/

They claim the source is "The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA)" though they don't link the report itself so I'm not sure if this is true or false.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) released a statement calling Israel an illegitimate state, deepening the country’s already strong opposition to Israel.

North Korea doesn't recognize Israel though.

How is this a meme?

sangeteria@lemmy.ml · 21 pts · 1y (13 replies)

Ig it's memetic in the literal sense of this is the smallest possible unit of culture to convey the info. But yeah it's not really funny it's just news (good news ofc but news nonetheless).

NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz · -8 pts · 1y (12 replies)

Is the death penalty for belief really good news though?

narr1@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 1y (10 replies)

(seeing as this is most likely "fake news", except that DPRK does not recognize Isn'trael) if the belief in question is an old-school fanatical and extremist fascism, which uses state-religion as a tool and calls for the extermination of the wrong-coloured? Yes, for such a belief I view the death penalty (in many cases) as good news. The intolerant shouldn't be tolerated.

FlordaMan@lemmy.world · -3 pts · 1y (3 replies)

If you need the death penalty to prevent spreading of ideas like zionism it’s a failure of education.

narr1@lemmy.ml · 6 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Indeed, and the education system globally should go through many updates. I don't think that's gonna happen under capitalism, and neither is the dismantling of the zionist state.

FlordaMan@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yea, agreed. But I am not sure that normalizing the death penalty for political believes (even such evil believes like zionism) is worth it to prevent zionism from spreading.

narr1@lemmy.ml · 6 pts · 1y

I think it would be worth it to make some examples of Zionists, along with some corporate executives. Not necssarily death penalty to each, I mean there's no reason we can't be civilized, but we could have some. As a little treat.

Oh shit, a fucking bootlicker

NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz · 0 pts · 1y (3 replies)

My comment gets deleted, but this doesn't? This place is weird. I didn't realise being anti-death penalty was such a controversial opinion.

narr1@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 1y

You're veiling your bootlicking in being anti death penalty, and now you're playing the victim.

HiddenLayer555@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 1y

You should ask the IDF that. Actually you shouldn't because they'll shoot you on the spot.

Shock? Absolutely not, the man was a galaxial treasure.

Work and stability for millions. Freedom for all, unless they are traitors. He even rid us of a scary magic sect that kidnapped children.

Dude hated nonhumans. He brought back slavery to the Empire.

Propaganda against the rightful emperor by some terrorists.

The 'forced volunteer work' was done based on a choice system(not their choice of course) and we can simply not help that the racial background of our most problematic demographics match nonhumans that much, although it does give food for thought.

Devconsole@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

This comment section is disgusting.

HiddenLayer555@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 1y

Yeah so many people simping for a genocidal rogue state that casually breaks international law. One that vows to kill every single member of an entire ethnic group.

BudgetBandit@sh.itjust.works · 0 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Well the poster has "entertainment" in the name so it‘s definitely satire.

Cowbee@lemmy.ml · 11 pts · 1y

The DPRK has been anti-Zionist for decades. I don't know if the death penalty is accurate, but the DPRK only recognizes Palestine, not Israel.

Israel is the biggest perpetrator of terrorism in the world. Facts being true don’t require a vacation to make them so.

Would love to visit, even if it's mostly guided. It's something novel for sure, being stuck in 80s hellhole.
