They don't have to. Geniuses behind the movement picked a copyrighted character owned by a scummy corporation who is NOT on their side to express their outrage. They can just DMCA it down and everyone gets reverted to a lovely solid color block with their initial in it by default.
You know, not an awful idea. I expect doing it at work would not have the intended effect because the people you'd be targeting will have no clue that it's a protest image.
